I wanted interested in making the incredible hulk for my level 20th gestalted campaign. all books allowed including dragon mags. I was thinking about choosing goliath, but i was interested in doing the whole transformation from human to hulk. Can you guys give me ideas on how to achieve this. 54 pt buyout, LA buyout, and Bloodline as well.

put: "Hulking Hurler" in the Search box.
EDIT - dang that didn't work.
EDIT 2 --- This one worked ---> Hulk-less hurler - (by Tempest Stormwind)

That's the whole thread, too.
That'll do it.
You can easily tag a Titan Bloodline in there.

The level 12 ability is key.
Your 54 point buy is silly, but fun.
This is seriously all you need.

Well Goliath is a good choice if you take the racial substitution Barbarian, then pick up 9 levels in Psychic Warrior and the Expansion power for 3 size increases(one of them is even a type of rage). Add levels of Warhulk to get even more str while large(or bigger).

You can always reflavor your appearance to be human.  Maybe say you were a human experimented on by a Wizard and a Psion eventually their experiments paid off and you gained tremendous strength and size. Heck that could even give you a simmilar story to Bruce Banner.

Human using Dungeoncrasher Fighter variant, then into War Hulk for one side. Rules for improvised weapon damage are in Complete Warrior. Hint: go for heavy and sharp. Like, as heavy as you can pick up. With War Hulk STR, that will be a lot. That covers pretty much all of Hulk's basic tactics... hit them with something huge, or charge them and smash them into stuff (dungeoncrashing).

For your other side, check into rage building... I'm not much of a barbarian guy, so I actually don't know what all you could do, but I think there's a rage type that increases your size (feat, variant, or prestige class I don't know). Frenzied Berserker would fit, if you can get it in around War Hulk.

The Goliath's Mountain Rage increases your size to Large (and you should, logically, gain the Size bonuses/penalties associated with it although the rules don't mention it), which qualifies you for War Hulk during your Rage. The fun thing is that you don't suffer from No Time To Think except when in a rage, when you couldn't use those skills anyway. You also don't get any of the other class features outside of a rage, adding the the Bruce Banner feel.

You can do this as a Human, even, by taking Stoneblessed (Goliath) on one side. If you go that route, consider going Zhentarim Fighter (Champions of Valor Web Enhancement), which gives you nifty fear-based abilities. Also, ask your DM if you can use Strength in place of Charisma for Intimidate (I think this was listed as an optional rule somewhere, but I don't remember).

Well if you do it my way you could get the Expanded Knowledge feat in order to get the Energy Burst(sonic probably simulates the ground pound best) power but you do have to have at least 13 levels in Psychic Warrior and you can't do it while in Mountain Rage(but you can while Expansion is in effect). Psychic Warrior also gives bonus feats so there might be some maneuver from Tome of Battle that you could get before then that would work for a ground pound.

This is absolutely the way to go when making the Hulk for D&D. The shockwave and jumping crap are completely secondary to being able to grow in size, turn into a brute, and punch things really hard. I would also add at least some elements of the Hulking Hurler build just so you can have something to do to people that you can't actually reach in melee.

I was just talking about something similar at my weekend game. I would use a Primeval from Frostburn, choosing Dire Ape.

If I wanted to play the scientist aspect as well, Factotum would be a good start, but if I just wanted the Hulk part then this is my build:

Neanderthal Barbarian 8, Primeval 10, Warshaper 2.
Endurance,*
Self-sufficent,*
Improved Toughness,*
Steadfast Determination,
Animal Devotion x3

*prereq

Stack rage, the animal devotion str boost, and Primeval form 3x per day for a Str in the low 70s

For a Pissed off Scientist build, Human Factotum 8, Ftr 2, Primeval 10
Use Ftr 2 to get the dungeon smasher ACF, and pick up Powerattack, Knockback**, Improved Bullrush, and Shocktrooper to knock people into walls for extra damage, but don't do it on the first claw attack so you get rend on the second. You still have the human bonus feat open after taking the 3 prereqs also, I'd still get Steadfast Determination.

(**only works when in Primeval form because you have to be large)

ETA- I just noticed that it's Gestalt, so take Factotum 20//Barbarian 8/Primeval 10/Warshaper2

In a non-ghestalt epic campaign I played the primevil from frostburn, as well as a champion of gwynharwyf.  Ultimately my char's ending strength was approximately 96 without magic items.  As a large size creature a strength of 96 actually is enough to throw aircraft carriers (Yes, I did the math for carrying capacity on that one).  Without ghestalt I could have increased my str to 100, or 110 ish MAYBE with War Hulk, but then I would have lost fighter levels - something you don't have to worry about as a ghestalt.

My suggestion for massive str?  Well it really depends on if you're going to use a weapon or not, as well as your alignment.  If you're any form of good get Vow of Poverty to get an enhancement bonus to strength, Golliath gives you a great str bonus, get into Primeval ASAP to get to 10th level to qualify as a shapechanger to change into the War Shaper (4 str/ 4 con / 5ft more reach, immunity to critical hits).  Also take "powerful wild shape" to keep your powerful build WHILE you're 'wild shaped' which will work with the Primeval's "wild shape".

Your normal non PRC should be fighter (for the feats, obviously) or barbarian to increase your rage/day and rage effects - pickup Reckless rage from Races of Stone for 2 more str / con.

Ultimately round it out with Frenzied berzker (everyone saw that coming) for the power attacking.  War Hulk will grant you all the abilities you need for attacking at a fair range with a fair weapon (+str damage on that weapon, remember that.  Remember that.)  And with ghestalt fighter you can have Power Throw for power attack w/ thrown.

Assuming you put an 18 into starting str:
18 (Base)
4 (Gollaith)
3 (Primeval)
6 (While in Dire Ape form)
14 (From Dire Ape Form)
8 (Vow of Poverty)
4 (Warshaper)
8 (Reckless Rage + Mountain Rage + Rage - not counting levels)
10 (Frenzy)
5 (Levels 1-20)
20 (War Hulk)

100 str, no magic items, though it might be less, if you can't find a way to fenagle in all the prestige classes before 20.  No big deal though, you'll still be in the 90's.

Also take "powerful wild shape" to keep your powerful build WHILE you're 'wild shaped' which will work with the Primeval's "wild shape".

I believe there was errata to make that feat useless:  Goliaths keep Powerful Build while Wild Shaping regardless.

You should take a look in savage species for feats that let you do the exaggerated strengthed based actions like ground stomping and knocking people back with your breath all of which need at least large size to qualify for also there was a race in one of the monster manuals that could turn from small size to large at will and its level adjustment wasn't to bad.

If you want the human transformation aspect what about:

Human
A Side: Fighter 4/Lion Totem Barbarian 2/ Warshaper 4/ Frenzied Berserker 10
B Side: Druid 20

or

Human
A Side: Ranger 1/ Psion(Egoist) 5/ Warshaper 4/ Slayer 10
B Side: Druid 20

or

Human
A Side: Barbarian 5/ Warshaper 5/ Bear Warrior 10
B Side: Druid 20

If you don't care about the human transformation aspect and just want to be all hulk all the time, what about:
A Side: Anthropomorphic Baleen Whale 3HD +0 LA/ Feral +1 LA/ Mineral Warrior +1 LA/ Barbarian X
B Side: Fighter 5/ Warshaper 2/ Hulking Hurler 3/ Warhulk 10

Just some off the cuff ideas,

Good Luck,
Necro
