Alright, I'm creating an 8th level build for my next game using 32-Point Buy and have to stick with a Human(no templates) as per my DM. I'd like to build something working with a 'savage' concept using Barbarian and Ranger levels and would like to know what everyone thinks of this class combination and what they might recommend for my specific build.

Currently I've access to the Players Handbook 1 & 2, Monster Manual, Dungeon Masters Guide, Complete Warrior, Complete Adventurer, Complete Arcane, Dungeonscape and Heroes of Battle.

While this is only a point of influence on possible routes I'm making this character with an emphasis on group/team combat tactics.

What would you all recommend? I'll give whatever other information you want.

Teamwork= White Raven
Savage= Tiger Claw

I'd go warblade.

Unfortunately as it turns out my DM wont allow Tome of Battle as of yet.

I'll have to wait and see.

Yeah. He says Warblades are all about glory so I can't play one being a 'savage' character. Shucks.

Won't I just end up slaughtering my teammates as a Frenzied Berserker? I wanted to be a team player and I'd like to stick with something primal.

Depends. Which is a better way to show flavor is mutable, TPK or ubercharger?

I just mean if my DM sees the Wablade as stuck in it's flavor he'll be hesitant to allow a FB.

How well do you know this DM? I'm inclined to suggest CoDzilla, but I don't know if it would help or hurt your future gaming.

It would. I'm just looking for an effective, but not gamebreaking build for a savage oriented Barbarian, Ranger or even Wilderness Rogue. I guess I should have included all of this beforehand.

are races of stone and complete champion accessible by any chance?

ranger->stoneblessed->fist of the forst->deepwarden = very wild, 2x con to AC, other fun stuff.

No. Only what I included in the first post and even then there are some restrictions, it seems.

So, we'll stay away from CoDzilla? I'd do something like this:
Human Ranger 1/ Barbarian 2/ Fighter 2/ Horizon Walker 1/ Barbarian+2
H) Power Attack
1) Imp. Bullrush
3) Extra Rage
Fighter) Improved Init
Fighter) Leap Attack
6) Combat Brute

Human Ranger 3/Barbarian 2/Horizon Walker 6-7/Barbarian X
Feats:
1) Brutal Throw, Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot
2) TWF from Ranger.
3) Rapid Shot and Endurance from Ranger.
6) Steadfast Determination
9) Power Attack
12) Power Throw
15) Extra Rage
18) Extra Rage

Fight with Longspears and Javelins. Doesn't get much more savage than that.
