| #1vglcatDec 17, 2008 14:46:34 | for purposes of polymorph and what not i was wondering. to pyro/cro hydras have the same stat blocks? if not where are they?![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() yes that was exactly 20! |
| #2reisDec 17, 2008 14:53:51 | Pyrohydra those are the only differences between a normal hydra and the other varieties you mentioned. |
| #3vglcatDec 17, 2008 15:10:28 | so are you saying that you can polymorph into a pyro hydra witch is exactly the same hit dice?!?!?!?![]() |
| #4reisDec 17, 2008 15:51:52 | yes |
| #5vglcatDec 17, 2008 16:47:11 | well now this thread needs a new purpose because I refuse to waste thread space.............. any ideas??? ![]() |
| #6jenosDec 17, 2008 17:06:54 | Note that without someway to get the supernatural ability to breath fire/cold(Via assume Supernatural ability feat or metamporphic transfer, or something along those lines) theres very little difference between a pyrohydra and a regular hydra of the same hit dice. |
| #7reisDec 17, 2008 17:41:12 | it gives you the fire or cold subtype which makes you immune to that element and vulnerable to its opposite |
| #8vglcatDec 17, 2008 17:55:12 | i see..... but isn't it just better to play a pyro than a regular? |
| #9jaronkDec 17, 2008 18:19:07 | That depends entirely on what you're fighting at the time. If you're not fighting things with fire attacks and instead are fighting things that are hitting you with cold spells, Pyro would be far worse, while Cryo would be better. If you're fighting things that don't use fire or cold, then it doesn't matter at all. JaronK |
| #10runestarDec 17, 2008 20:00:03 | Well, in the rare case where the enemy is capable of dealing either fire or cold damage...:P |
| #11vglcatDec 17, 2008 20:49:46 | so your saying is pretty much it depends? also what deos cyro mean? i know pyro but cyro? is that a word? or latin or something? |
| #12reisDec 17, 2008 21:11:19 | it would seem to mean "cold" |
| #13runestarDec 18, 2008 4:46:49 | I guess cyro comes from cyrogenics. They probably chose it because of how close it sounded to pyro... |
| #14cruDec 18, 2008 4:54:50 | cryo- pref. Cold; freezing: cryoscopy. [From Greek kruos, icy cold; see kreus- in Indo-European roots.] (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/cryo-) |
