| #1roguejamesMay 19, 2009 18:30:33 | After two years of being the heal-bot for my weekly group I finally bought the farm. So did our thief... I've got 1st Edition on the brain, so these new fangled rogues from 3.0, 3.5 and 4 are still thieves to me. Anyway, we've decided to swap jobs with our new characters. I know very little about rogues, I play band-aid slingers. I want build help, I need build help, please, please, please? We're using the 3.5 rules set, 14th level characters, all WoTC books, WoTC splat plus Forgotten Realms and UA are in, nothing outside. 32 point stat buy system, no templates, book races only - i.e. Drow are okay, Half Dragons are not. We've both been given the okay to min/max to our hearts content. The concept is Gomez and Morticia - think neutral-ish, i.e. non-evil. I would be Gomez. Prioritites are Search and Disable Device, Stealth (MS/H) i.e. scouting; Doing Damage; Survival (HP; AC plus Saves) and of course all the cheese that can be found. Thank you in advance for any suggestions, builds and well earned flames for not knowing how to build an uber rogue are appreciated. |

As far as armor goes i suggest celestial armor from the dmg it's 22,500 gold but it has a 5 armor bonus a max 8 dexterity and is +3 this + it can allow you to fly. O the earlier 2 feats weapon focus and shadow blade must be used with a dagger, short sword, saisiangham, unarmed strike or spiked chain. Another good timbit of taking a lvl in swordcsage it is allows you a stance like child of shadow which gives you cover when ever you move at least 10 ft in a round or in laymens terms since i'm not how familiar you are with 3.5 a additional 4 ac. |

I know very little about rogues, I play band-aid slingers. I want build help, I need build help, please, please, please? I'd go Lesser Tiefling (Player's Guide to Faerun) +0 LA +2 Dex, +2 Int, -2 Cha Swashbuckler 11/Rogue 3 Starting Stats: Str 10 Dex 16 (18) Con 16 Int 14 (16) Wis 10 Cha 10 (8) 1 Rogue - Two Weapon Fighting 2 Rogue 3 Rogue - Telling Blow 4 Swashbuckler 5 Swashbuckler - Weapon Finesse 6 Swashbuckler - Daring Outlaw 7 Swashbuckler 8 Swashbuckler 9 Swashbuckler - Improved Critical (Kukri) 10 Swashbuckler 11 Swashbuckler 12 Swashbuckler - Craven (Champions of Ruin) 13 Swashbuckler 14 Swashbuckler This build is a little more combat than skill oriented but it's still pretty good. You'd get +7d6 to your sneak attack, your BAB is +13, your HP is still pretty good since most of them are d10 from your Swashy levels (+ your 16 con). You'd get INT to damage (in addition to str) along with Dex to hit. Since you have Kukri's with Improved Crit 15-20 x 2 crit you'd be getting your sneak attack a lot more in combat. Craven would give you +14 to your sneak attack as well. So when you're flanking in combat you're doing 1d4 +7d6 +17 as is (twice that since you have two kukri's). Skill points are still pretty good since your Int is good as well. |
