But i never made one, and the sheer power and opportunities is overwhelming. I spent the last 2 days reading the handbooks, checking things out, and I don't know what to do. I'll post my skeleton build. I'm gonna be buff/blastificer

I thought about going warforged, but binding elementals is just too cool to pass up.

Gnome Artificer 20 (I'm level 3 for now)

Feats:
Level 1: Extend spell
Level 3: Persistent Spell
Level 4: The artisan feat that gives 25% gold reduction
Level 6: Empower Spell
Level 8: wand mastery
Level 9: Bind Elemental
Level 12: Twin Spell, The artisan feat that gives 25% exp reduction
Level 15: Maximise Spell
Level 16: Extra Ring
Level 18: Anything, open feat. Maybe Quicken spell.
Level 20: Craft Construct

What's the save DC for my wands? Is it my intel+Spell level since I'm the crafter ? Same thing for staves?

With this combo i could pour out a wand of orb of force that does 180 for 6 charges (if i infuse it with twin first), enough damage to last me. I could also persist a lot of buffs, wich everyone will like me for.

Anyone has suggestions for the real low level spells, say like, i heard haste was a level 1 trapsmith spell, making me able to persist it throught an eternal wand that is very cheap, very easily?

I basically want to know, what spells should i get, where are the REAL low level spells, is there more documentation on this? What are some cool ways to bind elementals.

thanks for the advice.

Well, wands are assumed to use the bare minimum to cast the spell it holds, but a custom wand can use whatever your Int was when you made it. It costs a little extra to do though.

Are you using a Rod of Many Wands? I love that item. It and Artificer just go so well together. If you have any other feats open at the lower levels (such as from Flaws or Taint) then pick up Shape Soulmeld (Mage's Spectacles). This will boost your Spellcraft and UMD by 4 base, +1 per point you invest. It may be a good idea to have it, as that really helps out if you start at the low levels.

The Archivist handbook (or a thread about the Archivist) has a list of all spells they can get at the lowest possible level. That same list can be used for any Artificer, so find it.

And kudos for the Futurama reference. If you did go with Warforged, you would do well to name him Bender.

Looks pretty good to me. I am playing a more melee based Warforged Artificer right now. Its pretty fun to have 9 attacks at level 9 without TWF.

Couple things:

Wand Mastery requires 9th.

You may want to swap Quicken for Empower. You'll get more blasting bang for your buck and it has more applications for buffing.

Swift spells are often good to persist. For example, Haste is touch, so its not legal, but Haste, Swift is not only personal, its also Bard 1. So you could either create a wand for 563g or just do what i do, cast spell storing item every day since it only costs you CL*XP per day. Other good swift spells abound, such as Fly.

Other self-buffing spells to shoot for would be Fist of Stone (if you feel like going melee), Alter Self, Bite of the Wererat, Greater Luminous Armor, etc

You could also go the party buff route and persist stuff like Bless, Prayer, Recitation, Elation, Mass Lessor Vigor, etc. Your party will love you.

Well, so far being level 3 and all, i crafted a gigantic number of battlefield control scrolls, borrowing some of the best from every spell list, and I'm planning on using them, and infusing my crossbow to be bane. Eventually, I MAY go the archery way and get bracers of archery and a bow, and I'll mostly pick quicken over empower yeah, good call.
