| #1daedhaedMay 31, 2009 22:35:22 | 8 levels of Dread Necromancer, and 10 levels of Walker in the Waste is what I have so far and now I need 12 more levels and I don't know what to do with them. Any help here? And I could also use some help with the feat progresion. I'll be entering the campaign somwhere in the 20's so i'll already be a Dry Lich. |

| #3SenevriJun 01, 2009 0:16:25 | Todo: Expand Spell List Negate Undead Creation Costs So... 1. Mage of the Arcane Order, or access to Shadow spells or Anyspell 2. Ignore Material Components, Epic Spellcasting OR Improved Spell Capacity AND Multispell. Persist Lifeward. Contingent Ghostform if HP < 100. Incorporeality or Etherealness + Transdimensional Spell + no need for material components = nasty. Six levels of Fiend-Blooded (Dread Necro + feats qualify) gets Greater Shadow Evocation, Greater Shadow Conjuration and Shades, for an example. Go Shadowcraft from there, if you like. |
| #4rebel7284Jun 01, 2009 2:04:05 | I'd do something like Phrenic Gnome Cloistered Cleric 3/Dread Necromancer 1/Walker In the Wastes 10/Shadowcraft Mage 3/Dweomerkeeper 10/XX1 (finish ScM?) Edit: if you really want more Dread Necromancer for flavor or if your DM allows the lich and the dry lich templates to stack, you can try Dread Necromancer 9/Ur Priest 2/Walker in the Wastes 10/Dread Necromancer 9 |
| #5emyJun 01, 2009 2:05:26 | I take any opportunity I can to promote runestaffs. So I'm going to do that now. "1. Mage of the Arcane Order, or access to Shadow spells or Anyspell or Runestaffs" (actually I think it should be runestaves, but "staffs" is how MIC pluralizes it) 2. add Spellstitching, or play a race with innate spellcasting such as a dragon (I recommend Steel) |
| #6bomazJun 01, 2009 2:56:16 | corpsecrafter from libris mortis is very usefull Don't forget that when you became a lich you were in a dessecrated area with an altar to your god. this gives you +2 hp/hd for free |
| #7rebel7284Jun 01, 2009 7:40:22 | Still thinking about this build, perhaps combining my previous two ideas into DN9/Ur Priest 2/Walker 10/Contemplative 1/Dweomerkeeper 8 Even better would be DN4/Class with good Fort save 1/Ur Priest 2/Walker 10/Dweomerkeeper 10/XX3 |
| #8hijaxxJun 01, 2009 10:09:50 | first i want to know, do you want a spellcasting necromancer or an undead controller? spellcasting necro i would do: DN 5/Ur Priest 2/walker 10(boosting Ur-priest by 8 and DN by 2)/DN+3/fiend-blooded 9/archmage 1(spell power high arcana) we get TWO pools of epic spells. this is HUGE, as epic spellcasting is pretty much powerful enough that you can just beat up the game balance and tell it to get a job. Undead controller: Anthropomorphic giant octopus 2/cleric 3/Walker 10/soul eater 9/master of shrouds 6 with this build, you just run around slaughtering small villages all day, sending off your wights to do more killing, thus gaining more and more wights. ooh, no control pool, nice! |

| #11daedhaedJun 01, 2009 12:02:25 | the Complete Divine Web Enhancement oh well, I'm having difficulty finding it. |
| #12emyJun 01, 2009 12:18:29 | oh well, I'm having difficulty finding it. ![]() If you had googled "complete divine web enhancement", you'd have seen that this page is the first result. Dweomerkeeper is on the first page of the web enhancement. How is that difficult? |
| #13jaronkJun 01, 2009 14:14:01 | Palemaster gives cheaper undead creation, but at this level Plague of Undead should be your default method of creating more minions. What you really need are more spells at this point, as the DN list is rather limited. You also might want more DN levels, as the level 8 ability sets your controlled undead limit to be based on DN levels, NOT character levels. JaronK |
| #14emyJun 01, 2009 14:49:08 | You also might want more DN levels, as the level 8 ability sets your controlled undead limit to be based on DN levels, NOT character levels. Though if you're not going to add dread necromancer levels... Animate dead is normally based on caster level, so at ECL30 you could do a number of things: Heighten Spell [metamagic] + Earth Spell + Improved Heighten Spell [epic] + Demiplane created by Genesis (Planar trait: adds heighten spell to spells cast on this plane for free) (arbitrarily high caster level, as long as you're touching the ground) -or- Spelldancer 1 with a hugely pumped perform check could get it pretty damn high. At least high enough to compete with Undead Mastery. The only problem is that you can't apply Spelldance to Necromancy spells. I think emulating it with Limited Wish would work. / On the more reasonable side of things, if you end up being a necromancer with both cleric casting and arcane casting, take a look at the Aligned Theurgy feat from Dragon Magazine 325. Take the Evil domain, and suddenly, your arcane and divine levels stack for CL on [evil] spells (animate dead, plague of undead). That alone should get you to about 50~ish CL without even trying. |
| #15jameswilliamogleJun 01, 2009 21:16:02 | Rainbow Servant is pretty good at spontaneous casters in epic levels. Trout out. |
| #16daedhaedJun 05, 2009 9:42:30 | Where is the spell stiched template found. |
| #17emyJun 05, 2009 9:44:47 | Where is the spell stiched template found. I want to say Libris Mortis, but it's actually in Complete Arcane. |

| #19jgumbyrxJun 05, 2009 11:18:47 | Where can I find the Lord of the Dead prc? I don't know if it can be found anywhere else, but I do know that it can be found in this WoTC article. |
| #20daedhaedJun 05, 2009 11:47:52 | I just now added 5 levels of Lod of the Dead. So now there are only 7 levels left to fill. |
