So I was thinking of a character with high hit points who would sacrifice his own life (hp) to make himself stronger. I'm thinking I would have to be evil but I have every 3.5 book and the useful (or broken) 3.0 books to pull it off. (I've been away for awhile so I can't name any right now). I usually don't ask for help on builds but I haven't played in awhile and I don't know where to start other then dragon born dwarf (or other con race). Any help!? Oh oh oh, and 5th level with double feats. Ask me about anything I left out.

Thanks in advance,
Nizo

Well, the easy way to do this is to play a Crusader and have, like, a vorpal caltrop in your boot or something.

The more CharOp way is going to be a Trouserfang Dwarf or something very close, I'd guess.

First off, thanks for helping me out and second, where are you going with the crusader build? I guess I need to look into more.

Crusaders have a 'delayed damage pool' - direct damage gets stored there & doesn't affect them until the next round. As they level up, the storeable damage goes up. They also have an ability that lets them channel that damage; they get a bonus of +1/+1 for evey 5 points of delayed damage.

There's also the beserker strength barbarian variant who automatically enters frenzy when below a certain HP total (don't remember the source for that - PHB2?).

You could also go the psionics path and play a character akin to Goku with his keokens and such. Wilder and Overchannel can do that trick pretty easy.

The spell Masochism from the Book of Vile Darkness. The Overchannel feat for a psionicist (or psi-warrior, etc). There is a spell Blade of Blood that gives you extra dice of damage based on how much damage you sacrifice yourself. There is also a palladin spell that does the same (Divine Sacrifice, I think).
