Get rid of all the feats you have at the moment. Power attack is your friend, so is Arcane strike, Extend spell and Minor shapeshift.

Make sure you have plenty of Wraithstrikes prepared.

My own, personal, favorite human Gish build is...

Human Paragon 1/Fighter 1/Wizard 2/HP +2/SpellSword 1/Abjurant Champion 5/Eldritch Knight 8

That gives you BAB of 18, Caster Level 17 (9th level spells) and several nifty abilities (Including casting in Armor, if that's something you're in to).

For feats, I agree with Tshern, Power Attack/Cleave/Great Cleave + Minor Shapeshift (self healing as swift action) + Arcane Strike = a pretty strong attack chain.

I disagree about Extend spell, though, you get Extend Abjuration for free (with no level increase) as an Abjurant Champion, and that's the bulk of what you'll want extended. For anything else, Metamagic Rods aren't all that expensive.

If you do plan on going the Arcane Strike route, I also recommend going Diviner and dropping either Enchantment or Evocation, neither of which you'll be using much as a Gish. The extra spell slot per level is worth more to the Glass Cannon.

Never take Toughness, unless you have to for a PrC. If you really think you'll need the extra hitpoints, Improved Toughness is better (+20 hitpoints @20 vs +3)

For spells...

1st level: Shield, Critical Strike
2nd Level: ***Wraithstrike***, Heart of Air
3rd Level: Vampiric Touch, Haste, Heart of Water, Greater Magic Weapon
4th Level: Heart of Earth
5th Level: Heart of Fire
6th Level: DO NOT TAKE TENSERS TRANSFORMATION (no matter what the book tells you)
7th Level: Energy Immunity (automatically doubles duration from AbjCh, 2 spell slots equals immune to 4 energy types)
8th Level: Mind Blank
9th Level: Shapechange (not to use, but to keep around for Minor Shapeshift)

With the right gear, you can get your AC in the 40s-50s with that build and have a final attack bonus near there, which you'll blow out on power attack + wraithstrike + arcane strike full attacks. Vampiric Touch is to fill your spellstoring/bloodstone greatsword with, or have your weasel familiar deliver not to actually cast yourself.

Which reminds me, the above build has a REALLY poor reflex save. Get a weasel familiar and any save bonus you can stack asap. The all day energy resistance/immunity you'll have available will help, as will a ring of evasion if you can afford it. You're biggest weaknesses will be Antimagic/Dispel/ and SoD or SoS spells that hit reflex saves.

See if you can get your DM to houserule that Toughness rolls into Improved Toughness at 3rd level. I've houseruled that a number of times and have got DM's to do it.

Toughness is going to be a wasted feat at level 2 and really wasted at level 4 otherwise. Even at level 1, it's maybe 1 extra hit from a monster, if fights are that close, you're either really unlucky or someone is doing something wrong.

If you went Fighter at 1, you're better off with Power Attack/Cleave and a high damage weapon. That will clear off the 2 or 3 Goblin Warriors you should be fighting at that level quick enough to prevent the need for extra hitpoints.

Another option is to use the retraining rules in the PHB 2 to switch Toughness to another feat at higher levels. I highly suggest doing this, because, as others have pointed out, Toughness quickly loses what little value it had as you gain levels.

And stuff like False life, Minor shapeshift and Heart of earth are going to give you a huge number of temporary hitpoints now when they stack as long as they come from different sources.

rules compedium changed this, though you can't get it from the same source still, thus you can't use false life twice and have the temp hit points stack.
