| #1destined_infamySep 14, 2008 0:48:41 | kk, so I'm startin a new char to join a party because my previous one just became an NPC via Weretigers + God of nature's destruction which we accidentally released from an ancient tomb in which Moradin imprisoned him in. Its a core game, with a bit of Eberron thrown into it, but I'm pretty sure no Ferrune. Party: Scout 4, Barb 5(going for War Hulk), Pally 7, and monk 5. Also we have another char (probably cleric) about to join up. Rolls: 18, 18, 16, 15, 14, 11 --yess, epic, hence I'm actually asking other people's ideas on the situation, and their suggestions. Restrictions: the DM doesn't like Tomb of Blood Book of Nine Swords. Thinks its OPed for some reason. I made a dervish that killed a purp worm at char lvl 10 (swashbuckler3,fighter2,dervish5) in one round, with 35 AC (only defensive item was a chain shirt, and I had no xp penalties), so they don't like it when I do that anymore, and I just had a wiz/war weaver, so they want me to try something new. I like to avoid loopholes, and just make hardcore chars instead. I generally avoid xp penalties via using human, but that can be waived if something epic comes up. Then again with decent will saves I can commit suicide & get a druid to Last Breath (raise dead+new body & no lvl loss. Gain physical attributes, keep mental ones [int, wis, cha, things like human's favoued class {any}, etc]). So yeah, if you have anything that will fit said mold, give me a shout, I'll drop by here at least once a day. Its still pretty open, and I've been thnking about bards a lot, but possibly more seeker of the song PrC for the dmg. If anyone knows how to optimize that quickly jotting down the basics & overall effect would be awesome, thanks. And lets see where your wildest dreams take you |

Maybe check out the class handbooks thread. Theres a bard guide, and the PrC guides might have a seeker of the song guide since that is a fairly well liked PrC. |
| #3destined_infamySep 15, 2008 18:15:13 | Well thats just the thing, I'm still looking at lots of possible builds, PrCs, and even what base class to go for. I just remembered about the Fochlucan Lyrist and how they get +10 cl to both diving & arcane spellcasting classes, which is giving me the thought of lvl 9 sorc, lvl 6 bard, & lvl 9 CoD (probably druid based off the speak(Druidic) prereq) spells by early epic levels. I'm just running around a lot, so I don't have much time to put the fastest build for this together. Basically any and all ideas are welcome from someone who wants to just make a random idea and let it play out to see how well it works. One good question is, is there any way to learn Druidic without taking a level in that class? If not it sort of narrows down the possible paths to take to get the PrC. But for a bare minimum thing for people to look at theres either the Bard1/Sorc19 combo that apparently gives +30d6 sonic damage to party members. Posted by Tytalus under the thread "Bards" Other then that maybe bard1/monk2/druid1/Bard2-7/Fochlucan Lyrist9/Sorc or Wiz1/Foch.10, then...not sure where from there. Is there another class that gets two different caster levels up? I know Ultimage Magus does, but isn't that just two arcane classes? Anyways, any and all feedback is appreciated |
