So while reading the Warlock Imbue Item ability, I notice is simply says that you can make Use Magic Device checks in place of spells.

In place of spells? Completely? How does this stack up with Truenaming Spells? The Spells in the Tome of Magic require a Truenaming Component when the spell is cast, but since Imbue Item completely replaces the need for a spell at all (and Truenaming Components are not costly components) is a check still needed to creation items? Or is the warlock able to by pass this completely?

A No Save Banishment would certainly be handy even if you can only use it against one creature.

Trying to look for a RAW only answer, DMs would ofcourse ask you to roll a check anyway.

Felt this deserved a little more attention then just Ask a Simply Question.
What do guys think?

No, it says quite clearly that this is only to replace spells when creating items. You don't get to cast spells, they just let you meet spell prerequisites when creating magic items.

This is still quite good. For example, they can do something that the errata/FAQ'd Artificer can't: create scrolls of obscure divine spells for the party Archivist.

Warlocks can’t cast spells with Imbue Item- I'm not sure why you would think that but I am only talking about item creation. I’m sorry if I gave you the wrong impression.

The Imbue Item ability by-passes the need for spells as prerequisite so it also by passes the need for the Truenaming Component entirely.

Thus the difficulty to craft a True Banishment scroll with a True Speak check of 200 is the same as a True Banishment that has a True Speak check of 4 or any other 8th level spell. Which is a mere UMD 23+
