I find the concept to be cool, but the execution to be horribly lacking. For starters, it is a 3/5 casting advancement, which already makes it need to be extremely powerful to be even worth taking. However, it also costs money and XP to enter, as well as 6th lvl spells, and all the benefits you get are cessation of aging, some paltry spell resistance, and the ability to basically eat magic (Consume spells negated by spell resistance either for some healing or to replenish spent spell slots). What I made this thread for is to gain ideas from the CO community to improve this prc to something much more playable. What seem to be obvious measures are to make it full casting (since it wouldn't make the class too powerful to have that, since the spell-eating is countered by not being able to be healed normally), and to greatly reduce the gold and xp costs to get in, since earliest level of entry is 11th without early entry tricks, perhaps even negate the xp cost entirely. Also, I was intentionally vague about the exact powers of the class because I'm not sure how much I can say about it without breaking the CoC, so I would prefer posts to be from those who are able to look up the prc themselves. Thank you in advance for any suggestions. |

I sure hope I'm allowed to say that previous sentence. @Wih: The healing and spell slot replenishing is based on failing the character's spell resistance and the amount healed/slot replenished depends upon the level of the spell that failed SR. I think that would work, but am not sure. Although, you can auto fail your own SR for the purpose of healing, as it says explicitly in the PrC entry, and later can suck the magic from magic items to heal/recharge spell slots. |
