| #1sally_jonesApr 14, 2008 21:40:12 | my gf and i are watching the last crusade and i was thinking about an good build for him since it would fit with my campaign as a cool npc. 12 lvls, 28 points. keep in mid that he wields luck better than most dwarves wield axes. also he is a very educated man. GO! |

| #5sally_jonesApr 14, 2008 22:11:24 | elaborate plz |
| #6jameswilliamogleApr 14, 2008 22:11:58 | He's only mildly strong, highly proficient w/ the whip, and very knowledgable. Bardic Knack Bard. 12 Str, 14 Dex, 14 Con, 14 Int, 8 Wis, 14 Cha. Done. |
| #7sallaApr 14, 2008 22:15:02 | elaborate plz He means 'give me something to work with'. It's generally considered poor form to just show up and say 'build me this'. Provide a framework to work with, put a little starting effort into it. That sort of thing. And I vote for Factotum with a splash of Warblade for whiptricks. |

| #9sally_jonesApr 14, 2008 22:40:02 | ok. sorry for not starting w/ more to go on. i like factotum. bard seems to have too much casting and bardic music doesnt fit at all. as many luck feats as possible as well as skill tricks. so: factotum 9/ uncanny trickster 3 or if fortune's friend spellcasting stacks w/ factotum: factotum 5/ fortune's friend 5/ uncanny trickster 3 (i know that's 13) |
| #10wihApr 14, 2008 23:14:56 | Need some way to get Bardic Knowledge. Is it possible to meet the pre-reqs for Loremaster using Factotum? |
| #11sallaApr 15, 2008 1:22:58 | Need some way to get Bardic Knowledge. Is it possible to meet the pre-reqs for Loremaster using Factotum? Loremaster requires spellcasting, IIRC, and the Factotum doesn't cast spells, just gets some spell-likes. Admittedly, it's been a long time since I saw any of the Indy movies, but I'd think a maxed out KN: History with smatterings of other Knowledges would cover it. |
| #12armarantApr 15, 2008 2:27:55 | Oh man, am I gunna be first to say Temple Raider of Olidammara (Complete Divine)? I mean cmon... He infiltrated the Temple of Doom... He finds ancient holy relics... this SCREAMS Indiana Jones. One of my first characters turned into him, though a bit more religiously devout at Cleric11/Temple Raider3/Fortunes Friend1 (granted religious to Olidammara) Just some input, Im not the greatest at optimization. |

| #16sally_jonesApr 15, 2008 22:43:33 | no more cat pics. cats are evil. no temple raider. indie was specifically a non believer. human paragon 3/ bard 1/ rogue 9 hows that sound? |
| #17andyjamesApr 15, 2008 23:14:45 | I would go with more Bard levels. I mean everytime the theme song comes on, he kicks major rear ![]() |
| #18mattblackeApr 16, 2008 0:06:43 | Factotum already gives you a nice bonus to any Knowledge check. Just abuse the heck out of the synergies. Besides, with Factotum, you get to add your Int bonus to your Strength bonus for trips, initiative, and all those physical skill checks. If you must dip for Bard, see about the UA Bardic Sage variant for the Int synergy. You'll get a couple of 0 level spells to play with, too. |
| #19phaxiApr 16, 2008 0:07:21 | no more cat pics. cats are evil. no temple raider. indie was specifically a non believer. mixing bard and rogue is a bad idea (from a charOP point of view). |
| #20SenevriApr 16, 2008 7:21:47 | Mmnotreally. Both use the same skill set etc. Their roles overlap and one favors CHA and one INT, but you do need a very specific concept of what you're doing for it to work out. Mainly I'd use Bard, upto 4, to qualify for some caster PrC, I guess. OTOH, some rogues are stealthy, while most bards are... not. |
