| #1felgorothAug 07, 2009 11:12:51 | So this is just a random idea I had for a build, I only did up to 7th level because I'm lazy and didn't really feel like going much further. I'd probably eventually go in to Dualist for Intelligence to AC because the build is based completely on Intelligence and Knowledge. I gave the build the Rapscallion feat and Combat Expertise more out of Flavor than necessity, Rapscallion would help with bluffing to people and Combat Expertise is always fun in my opinion. Anyway here it is: Changeling 1: Changeling Rogue (Races of Eberron page 122): Sneak Attack +1d6, Social Intuition, Education (Eberron Campaign Setting, 1st Level Feat), Rapscallion (Dragon #315, Flaw), Combat Expertise (PHB, Flaw 2) 2: Rogue: Evasion 3: Changeling Rogue: Sneak Attack +2d6, Minor Lore (+1 on all Knowledge Checks), Knowledge Devotion (Complete Champion page 60, deal extra damage based on a Knowledge check for the creature type, 3rd Level Feat) 4: Rogue: Uncanny Dodge 5: Swashbuckler: Weapon Finesse (Swashbuckler) 6: Swashbuckler: Grace +1, Daring Outlaw (Complete Scoundrel page 76, 6th Level Feat) 7: Swashbuckler: Insightful Strike (add Intelligence Modifier to damage rolls as well as Strength) |

| #3felgorothAug 07, 2009 11:20:34 | Swashblucker 3/Warblade 4... or even better, Warblade 7. On top of what I already have? I think what I have is decent enough. I'm not saying your build is bad but, what's the Warblade going to do for my build other than give me manuevers? Also, the Warblades level 7 ability is pretty much the same as the Swashbucklers level 3 ability isn't it? They clearly wouldn't stack unless your DM is cool like that and wouldn't the Intelligence bonus a Swashbuckler gets go into critical hits since you add it to your damage rolls? I don't know |

I'm not saying your build is bad but, what's the Warblade going to do for my build other than give me manuevers? It's decent certainly. However, a warblade gets better HD and BAB to actually be a fighter type and the maneuvers are very very useful, much better than a sneak attack progression in my opinion. I don't know WHAT? Two different abilities with different names giving untyped bonuses always stack. The fact that they work differently just confirms it. Swashbuckler's insightful strike works all the time as long as the enemy is not immune to precision damage. Warblade's Battle Cunning only works on flanked or flat footed opponents. |

| #6felgorothAug 07, 2009 11:59:58 | Does no one realize why I took rogue??? Especially the Changeling Rogue??? Minor Lore helps with my Knowledge checks which helps me deal more damage with Knowledge Devotion which adds even more damage to my attack plus Strength and Intelligence, ya the Warblade is cool and all but it lacks the social skills I want to have and I didn't necissarily mean Intelligence Fighter I meant a sneaky bastard that can oddly enough deal out some damage |
| #7rebel7284Aug 07, 2009 12:08:00 | I didn't necissarily mean Intelligence Fighter I meant a sneaky bastard that can oddly enough deal out some damage Oh, ok then, that changes things. ![]() Take a look at the feat Craven. |
| #8felgorothAug 07, 2009 12:20:34 | Oh, ok then, that changes things. Ya, I did think about that, I probably wouldn't be able to take it til 9th level though, unless I got rid of Combat Expertise or Rapscallion |
| #9SenevriAug 07, 2009 12:46:57 | Duelist... Can you get your DM to allow Pathfinder Duelist? Instead of a few d6:s it gets a flat duelist level on damage (multiplied on a crit!) |
| #10felgorothAug 07, 2009 12:54:19 | Duelist... Can you get your DM to allow Pathfinder Duelist? Instead of a few d6:s it gets a flat duelist level on damage (multiplied on a crit!) It would just depend on the game, sometimes he's really strict and other times he'll let you play anything you want |
| #11acereraklivesAug 07, 2009 12:59:58 | I'm a fan of daring outlaw builds, though I would avoid Duelist and just keep taking swashbuckler or rogue levels for more SA and BAB or SA and skills. Int to AC really isn't that exciting an ability unless you have wizard-level intelligence, but a daring outlaw needs a little str, a solid dex, solid con, a solid int, a little wis (or dump sense motive and will saves entirely), and a decent cha to be effective at fighting and social skills, so his int won't likely be over 14-16 most of the game because of MAD. |
| #12felgorothAug 07, 2009 16:51:15 | Actually if I did this my Intelligence would be my highest stat, my strength would likely be between 12 and 16 depending on my rolls, HIGH DEX, ok con between 12 and 16 as well depending on my stats, the only reason I would need wis would be for will saves so once again between 12 and 16 and my Cha would be kind of high. The skills in order from most important to least important for this build would be Intelligence, Dexterity, Charisma, Strength, Constitution, then Wisdom |
