This character will be the leader of a small Hextor army. Our party was sent to their encampment to seek his aid. Soren believes this is an attempt to have him demoted, so he choices to attack our mean instead. If we let him live, we might be able to use him in the future.

I want this guy to stronger in terms of melee than in spellcasting, but not enough where he was better of starting as a different class (because I like how Duskblades play). I tried counteracting his lose of arcane levels with Extra Spell and Practiced Spellcaster, and I think it might have done the trick. This guy was never meant to be able to one shot people with some reach/great cleve combo, he is more meant to be able to cut through a single target at a time like butter. If this guy works like I think he does, my party might have a couple dead by the end of this encounter.

Has Duskblade 13 / Shadow Sentinel 7 been done before? I feel like Duskblade is best to dip out after 13 and Shadow Sentinel after 7. It seems like a good combination since Shadow Sentinel's penetrate armor and Duskblade's make their weapon deal the most damage possible.
