YAY! Friend of mine is doing a hell campaign lvl 21 is starting level. I kinda wanna build a melee / sorc or just an uber blaster. My only complaint is (and I just starting playing casters.) I'm thinking something like

cleric 3 / wizard 3 / Geomancer 10 / abjurant champion 5
Use Divine Metamagic to fuel quicken and stack buffs on me
or

Warmage 1 / sorc (battle or stalwart variant ) or wiz x / ultimate magus 10 / maybe some lvls of master transmorgifist.
BLOW STUFF UP! Use warmage edge and take battle caster so I can wear some mith full plate.
Is there a way to speed up my casting so I can still make full attacks or am I fubar?

I'm open to suggestions and ideas. All 3.5 sources allowed (dragon mags up to dm). Also I can't cheese the entry methods into any of the prestige class, such as heighten spell to meet requirement.

(I wouldn't be opposed to trying pscionics but I've never played one b4 and I've never got to do an epic campaign.)

If you provide a build can you explain to me how it is supposed to be played. Thank you for any feedback I really do appreciate the help.

If you've just started playing casters I'd advise a somewhat straightforward build.... like Abjurer 3 / Focused Specialist 10 / Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil 7 / Archmage 1 for starters.

Perhaps a Focused Transmuter or Conjurer, in Master Specialist and Incantatrix. Once you can handle that sort of spellcaster, consider if you want to branch out into funky multiple-threat and extra-wide-list funky stuff. It'll give you a good baseline to compare that other stuff with.

As for how it's played.... wow that's kind of hard to advise on. The only way to learn is to do it, preferably from low levels on up. Since you're starting high, I'd advise self-limiting your spell selection to a few choice tomes, like Core and the Spell Compendium if you're ambitious, and focus on force multipliers like Planar Binding, Polymorph, Animate Dead, etc.

If you want to blast, play a Sorcerer, take a bunch of MM and cost reduction feats, and go into Incantatrix. You'll be dealing stupid damage in no time.

If you really want to go the geomancer route, which I don't normally recommend, the following works much better than the above...

Cloistered Cleric 1/Wizard (Transmuter or Conjurer) 3/Geomancer 10/Incantatrix 4/Sacred Exorcist 1/Archmage 2 (not necessarily in that order)

You can use either Precocious Apprentice or Southern Magician to qualify for early entry to Geomancer (some DM's will balk at this, but those that understand how poorly dual casters actually work usually don't in my experience). If you go with PA, you could change out that 3rd level of Wizard for a level of Focused Specialist to save yourself a feat (but that means losing the extra skill-points from taking CC at 1st). Use DMMeither Quicken or Persist) and Metamagic Effect abuse to buff yourself and your party. Abuse Knowledge devotion and geomancer levels to make yourself a defensive/offensive powerhouse. Use the other two domains with CC to make getting DMM easier (Planning and Undeath give you Extend Spell and Extra Turning for free, for example.) Going SE gets you two Turning pools to burn with DMM (assuming you take Rebuke with CC and Turn with SE, but that limits you to XNeutral).

Of course, if you want to KISS, CC1/Archivist 20 would probably work just as well.

What setting books are avaliable?

Are you starting in hell? Always remaining in hell? Or going to invade hell but can return to your bases on the normal planes?

All books allowed (it is in my original post for once lol)
We are going to start in hell (but we can lvl our chars out of hell, example I need to visit somewhere for something b4 I go to hell, the eniter lvl'ng of this char was done outside of hell to go to hell, I don't know why though)

I'm pretty familiar with casters I help build them with my friends just I never play them. I'm affraid of the d4 hit dice. The only reason I went with geomancer is better eschew mats and heavy armor. I was also want to use my turn undead attempts to make me melee monster. So basically Divine metamagic + spend turning attempts for free plus stuff, and abjuration = melee monster, and I can bombard stuff all day.

If you're focused on the melee part, I advise studyin' the Hood. If you want level 9 spells, modify this build.

Assuming Nezumi (Oriental Adventures) with the Dragonborn template (Races of the Dragon 8-10) wielding a wood lance and armor spikes akin to my Hood...

Barbarian1/Martial Transmuter5/Ruathar3/Abjurant Champion5/Eldritch Knight6

1: {Aggressive}, Battle Jump, Leap of the Heavens, [Literacy], [Pounce], Practiced Caster: Wizard, {Quick}, [Whirling Frenzy]
2: [Improved Initiative], [Sudden Shift]
3: Travel Devotion
6: Combat Casting, [Power Attack]
7: [Cleave]
9: Arcane Strike
12: Leap Attack OR Improved Bull Rush
15: Improved Bull Rush OR Combat Brute
18: Combat Brute

Wizard 10/Hathran 10 followed with Epic Hathran

Use simulcram to make duplicates of yourself to do circle magic.

Boost your caster level to obscene levels. Do direct damage spells and that necromancy spell that stuns people without saves based off hit dice and caster level

Acorn of Far Travel allows you to be treated as always in Rashemi and thus can do spontaneous magic everytime. (And if you heighten a spell to 9th level with circle magic, and spontaneously convert it to another 9th level spell you have much more 9th level spells than most people.)

Epic Hathran also gets epic bonus feats every 2 levels.

Whats more to love?

I'd go Cleric 1/Sorcerer 6/Silver Pyromancer 5/Abjurant Champion 5/Sacred Exorcist 4.

Smiting spells vs evil is awesome, plus all your Fire spells are 100% divine energy (perfect for devisl with all those resistances), you can all learn Paladin spells and add them to your Sorc spells known list. Sacred Exorcist in the same flavor and Purge undead in case you run into any in Hell ;)

Barbarian1/Martial Transmuter5/Ruathar3/Abjurant Champion5/Eldritch Knight6

I see no reason not to replace one of the EK levels with a Spellsword level.

bitznarf: My build requires investing at least 1 feat to obtain heavy armor proficiency.

Awesome help guys. Where in the hell can I find a detailed discription of loredrake. No One I know has dragons of eberron.

*Found it on here* I think the DM will disallow the loredrake due to the True Dragon Req.

OK think I settled on
Cleric 7 (pool of healing) / Demonwrecker 5 / Dweamor Keeper 9 (will take 10) or Divine Oracle 10 (undecided which)

Divine Metamagic Quicken
Turning feats that strengthen me
Knowledge Devotion
Maybe Destruction or Travel Devotion

Demon Wrecker lets me bypass Spell resistance and dr of demons.
DMM Quicken is to stack some buffs on me.
And the devotion knowledge to hit, destruction to whittle,
Travel Devotion I don't really understand But I think it lets me cast a spell and make a full attack ?

Edit* I just noticed mythic exampler, archtype advancement +1 divine spell casting lvl, does that mean I can get more than the 8/10 cl from the class? if so ZOMG ;)
btw thx for putting up with my rambling.

Dweomerkeeper4 allows you to cast a component-free miracle or anything once per day.
