#1 THELAWL Oct 21, 2012 11:58:33	I am dm'ing this 3.5 campaign and a new player has created a very strong bard. in combat he uses inspire courage with words of creation to boost the other players attack/damage by +6/+6. then the next round he uses inspire courage to give them 6d6 damage while letting the previous inspire courage linger for 10 rounds (combat is normally over in 3 rounds anyways). i told him he couldnt use dragonfire inspiration the second round without dropping the previous inspire courage bonus of +6/+6 after reviweing the description on the feat. am i right or are there already rules in place for this? dragonfire inspiration - When you use your bardic music to inspire courage, you can choose to imbue your allies with dragonfire. This choice is made when first activating the ability, and the choice applies to all allies affected. Each ally so inspired loses the standard morale bonus on weapon attack rolls and damage rolls. Instead, he deals an extra 1d6 points of fire damage with his weapons for every point of morale bonus that your inspire courage ability would normally add to the attack roll. For example, an 8th-level bard using this ability would add 2d6 points of fire damage to his allies' attacks. I've underline the points i feel are important to my arguement. "This choice is made when first activating the ability." to me this means that even if he could use this feat he could not use words of creation on it or any other buffs like "inspirational boost" because those happen after the song is sung. "loses the standard morale bonus on weapon attack rolls and damage rolls.Instead, he deals an extra 1d6 points of fire damage with his weapons for every point of morale bonus that your inspire courage ability would normally add to the attack roll." to me this means that what ever already active bonuses are on his allies(normal inspire courage from the previous round) are lost due to dragonfire and turned into damage rolls instead. additionally dragon fire uses inspire courage and it's not a seperate bardic music, so wouldnt the effects not stack because they come from the same source? and it doesnt state in the feat but arn't both moral bonuses as well?   what do you guys think? can he use dragonfire inspiration like this? are there already rules in place for this, if there are already widely accepted rules for this what are they?
