Does this actually work? If it is, why would an FB take Shock trooper?

Also, per RAW, Shock Trooper doesn't work with the improved versions of Power Attack granted by FB. Shock Trooper specifically triggers on the Power Attack feat, and the improved Power Attacks of FB are not a feat, but a class ability. I'm AFB right now so I can't say whether Leap Attack works the same way.

The frenzied berseker abilities only augment the effects of the power attack feat; they don't replace its use.

I would say no, since the FB is still using power attack. It is just that he gets more damage from the same feat due to his class abiltites. It I remember properly they do nor REPLACE power attack. They improve the results of the USE of the feat. Which is STILL using the feat.

Actually, there is no doubt as per RAW. FB specifically states that you are still using the Power Attack feat "gains a +3 bonus on melee damage rolls for every -2 penalty she takes on her melee attack rolls when she uses the power attack feat..."

Clearly by RAW it is not replacing power attack - only augmenting it.

First of all, this didn't need a separate thread. A post in the Simple Question, Simple Answer thread would suffice.

Also, I posted in error (since I was AFB). It's Combat Brute that Improved Power Attack doesn't work with (since it specifies a specific increase to damage, not a change to Power Attack's normal damage bonus). Shock Trooper should work just fine.

Apologies around for any confusion.
