| #1RunosMay 28, 2012 22:35:19 | Playing a 13th level gestalted game Illumian (Aeshkrau). Trying to Replicate naruto.wikia.com/wiki/Izanami and naruto.wikia.com/wiki/Izanagi. I currently have 7th level spells and 9th level powers. So far in terms of Izanami i'm thinking Time Regression but still unsure. any advice or suggestions much appreciated. | #2Maat_MonsMay 29, 2012 0:42:56 | Izanami appears to trap the target's mind in a false reality. This is quite similar to microcosm, except for the particulars of what the target perceives. Izanagi appears to be based on blurring the lines between illusion and reality. I'd go with shadowcraft mage (Races of Stone). That class can be used to make illusions more real than reality. How are you qualifying for anima mage so early? Improved binding would work for a 2nd-level vestige and precocious apprentice (Complete Arcane, p181) might work for 2nd-level spells, depending on your DM. Are you allowed to use flaws? Is your DM allowing anima mage in gestalt? Did he read the part of the gestalt rules that tell him not to? Prestige classes that are essentially class combinations-such as the arcane trickster, mystic theurge, and eldritch knight-should be prohibited if you’re using gestalt classes … How are you getting 9th-level powers? |

Still, without either of those AND improved binding, I don't think such an early entry is possible (and this takes two flaws). I'm not familiar at all with Naruto and it's late here, but this thread might help. There's apparently an updated version of it floating around too if those powers are more recent. |
| #4RunosMay 29, 2012 18:54:54 | Yes i did take improved binding and 2 flaws are allowed. My Str score is 30+ thanks to Loth-touched and feral templates in combination with Illumian (Aeshkrau) with ardent i was able to get 9th level powers. |

There's no such thing as bonus powers for a high ability score, but bonus power points for a high ability score is so close I'd be surprised if a DM didn't allow it. In any case, aeshkrau has no effect on the maximum number of power points you can spend on a single power, which is the limiting factor on what level of power an ardent can learn. |

I'm not so sure. Krau itself provides +2 caster level a la Practiced Spellcaster, and we're dealing with a DM liberal enough to allow gestalt, gestalt+dual-progression PrCs, and flaws, so it's probably safe to assume he's also allowing uber-transparency and letting practiced spellcaster and krau stack. Under that interpretation, pick up Improved Power Sigils and Practiced Manifester: Ardent, and you've got Ardent 9 + 1 bloodline +3 Krau + 4 Practiced Manifester = ML 17, but only barely. You'd still need Wisdom to set the DC and figure out if you can learn them (i.e. Wis 19 for 9ths) because Aeshkrau only changes your source of bonus slots, not any other parameter. I do not see how you're getting 7th level spells out of this, though - I count only 11 actual levels of arcane casting ability, and all the cheese relating to spell levels simply manipulates what you already know. Only the ardent learns powers based off of his ML; all of the others learn it based off of their effective level in their core class, and I'm only seeing 11 effective levels of wizard there. (His caster level will be much higher due to Krau and the bloodline at least, but that won't change how many base slots you have or what levels of spells you know.) However, all of this could be a lot clearer if Runos would simply edit in the feats he chose to the first post. I'm guessing Improved Sigil (Krau), Precocious Apprentice, and Improved Binding at level 1, Improved Power Sigils at 3, something related to your spellcasting at 6 and 9, and Practiced Manifester (Ardent) at 12. |

I assume he's applying it to wizard and only using cleric to meet the requirements. Ardent 9 + 1 bloodline +3 Krau + 4 Practiced Manifester = ML 17 I'm sure you know that neither krau nor practiced manifester can increase manifester level above character level, but you haven't factored that into your calculation. |

No, no we're not; if the build is illegal then no recreation of those techniques will matter because you can't use them. Maat gave some wonderful suggestions above; I notice now that my link was broken, so I took the time to google up the revised version of replicating the entirety of Naruto via psionics. It's a touch old since it doesn't showcase those two specific techniques but it will get you thinking along the right lines. For instance, I see no reason why Microcosm isn't a perfect Izanami. Izanagi is harder, but the easiest way to replicate that isn't Time Regression (which plays with physical reality) but rather Magic of Eberron's Forced Dream (a broken power since it's 3rd level psion/wilder and essentially the same as Time Regression, but it also works by basically saying "Yeah, I imagined last round instead of it actually happening.") (Incidentally, thanks, Maat, I knew I was forgetting something. None of those boosts except the bloodline raise ML above your HD, and I didn't realize Dwoemerkeeper was arcane or divine (having only ever seen it in the Cheater of Mystra builds, and then kind of writing it off as too badly designed to be worth investigating.)). |
