| #1ben8511Apr 06, 2012 9:58:03 | Im currently in a group only using 3.5rules and such and my group started off by all dying, we then awoke as a zombie ghost and skeleton and then our friend that found us being a centaur. We are currently seperated from each other in pairs of two. Also we are allowed to switch our body with something else to rid us of this undead curse. One friend is choosing to stay as a ranger skeleton, the ghost wishes to not take anothers life so he is making a mechanized body that he wishes to be like a monk, the centaur is obviously staying the same as a druid, and i wish to lose my zombie body for a poison dusk lizard. Looking at the team we have enough fighters and little magic, Im thinking that i will cross class between a soceror and a rogue. Firstly is this a good idea? So far our team could use more magic and has no one that is sneaky? Secondly this is my first time not being someone that likes to smash stuff so i wouldnt mind some stragegy. I was thinking of using poisons and using my soceror abilitys to enchant my wepons to help bridge the gap of what im lacking physically in fights. I dont want to shun from contact and only use projectiles because its just in my nature to say "oh were on a roof and he just hit me, well lets just tackle him off the roof and see what happens from there, i know i have enough health" but i was only planning on using my magic for minor healing of the group to help me physically so not so much for fighting ya know? Anywho i would like your ideas on this like if im taking the right path or right way about this all. |

| #3New-ShadowApr 06, 2012 13:27:03 | Alright there are a few suggestions I can throw out. The 2 most obvious ones are 1) 2 levels of Unseen Seer (Complete Mage) and using Advanced Learning to pick up the Ranger spell Hunter's Eye (PH 2, Level 2, +1d6 Sneak Attack/3 CL, plus spells through A.L. don't count against spells known) and 2) taking as many levels of Arcane Trickster (DMG) as you can. Daggerspell Mage from Complete Adventurer might be what your looking for in a class, though it requires a decent amount of feats and an arcane CL of 5 to get in. Other than that, keep your BAB up if you can (I suggest 1 level of Dragonslayer from Draconomicon and as many (if not all 5) levels of Abujurant Champion from Complete Mage as you can squeeze in), get equipment that can help with Sneak attacking (equipment that adds to S.A. dice, equipment that adds +(isert number here) to attack/damage rolls to S.A. strikes, weapons that have the properties of the Gravestrike and Golemstrike spells from Complete Adventurer (they allow you to sneak attack undead and golems respectively), Scrolls of Healer's Vision from Complete Scoundrel, etc), and get spells to agument your low BAB (Wraithstrike from Complete Adventurer, True Strike), low AC (Shield, Mage Armor, Daggerspell Stance from Complete Adventurer) and to sneak attack more often (Persistant Blade from Spell Compendium (blade of force flanks and attacks opponents)). Necrotic Skull Bomb from Champions of Ruin might help/heal your undead allies as it damages your foes. If you're sold on Sorc., go Dragonwrought Kobold, especially if you can get the Web Enhancement for Races of the Dragon (it Upgrades the D.K. BIG TIME). The spellstiched template might help out your undead allies, if they can aford the costs. Now I have a few questions for you. Do you have any idea what the campaign is going to be like, as that can determine what helps and what doesn't? What materials are available (aka banned or unbanned)? Can you buy off L.A.s'? What level are you at currently, and what level are you playing until? These questions and more are ones I need to have answered. I do hope, though, that what I've given you so far has helped. |
