For a reach weapon, you could try using the kusari-gama from the DMG (pg. 145). It's a light version of the spiked chain, basically, meaning you can use one in each hand and TWF.

I have played with the idea of progressing further into warblade, but getting him the abilities from the game...

Medusa's Gaze = Stone to flesh

Even in the game, he patently uses an item for this.
Poseidon's Rage = Widened Explosive Energy Burst (lightning)

Energy burst already outreaches Poseidon's Rage; no need to widen it.
Army Of Hades = Vortex of teeth.

That's actually a good match. Another alternative might be Manyjaws (SC).
Zuses Fury = Lightning bolt...duh...

Given the way he uses them, you might want to use those javelins that turn into lightning bolts when thrown instead. (I can't recall the name but they're in the DMG.) This is supported by the sequel, where the equivalent ability is also provided by a piece of equipment (Typhon's Bane, a bow)
Rage of the Gods = Tenser's Transformation

Another good match, so long as you're not trying to model Athena's Blessing (which turns Rage of the Gods from a physical invincibility/damage-dealing trick into another magic meter late-game... Hades, Poseidon, Poseidon, Hades, Poseidon, rage, hades, Poseidon, Poseidon, Hades, Poseidon, and hope the enemy dropped enough magic to recharge is probably the easiest way to take down the first two fights at the end of the game on higher difficulties, especially since transferring your life to the others in the second fight refills your rage meter). Tenser's transformation prevents spellcasting.
All the sub abilities needed, but i don't want to take away from his hitpoints or bab either. If ya got any ideas that arnt too expensive please help

Look into Dragon 328. They include a two-page spread on God of War itself, including direct stats for the Blades of Chaos (which they call the Anarch Razors) and a feat that enables him to do what he did with Medusa's head (and Eurydale's in the sequel), ripping it off and using its gaze attack.

For the record, the blades are a minor artifact, essentially 1d12 longswords with spiked chain reach that count as +3 adamantine weapons, can shift like Metalline to bypass DR, regenerate if sundered, and provide you with Whirlwind Attack. If that's too cheesy, you can model the game's effect with kusari-gamas (DMG), made Heavy (Magic of Faerun, I believe) and with a few additional effects on them to up their damage.

This is Kratos. He is too manly for mere 1d4 kukris.

(Granted, the Titan bloodline + the Sizing effect lets you upgrade those tiny kukris to gargantuan, giving you greatsword damage if I recall correctly... but I'm pretty sure you can do better.)

I'd use the kusari-gama over a pair of kukris anyway. The only thing it requires is a feat (Exotic Weapon Proficiency) which you can grant yourself with a single flaw. This is KRATOS, the man's full of flaws (though Pathetic (Wisdom) is probably the best choice overall for him; he's not so much weak-willed as easily led).

The other big advantage the kusari-gama has is that you don't need to use Bloodstorm Blade to replicate his distance attacks -- you've got reach anyway and can still hit adjacent targets. This frees up more levels for more Warblade.

Additionally, the damage on a kusari-gama sized for a medium creature is a d6, with a 19-20 x2 crit, so it's better crit-wise than a spiked chain, just not as good as a kukri. Deals slightly more damage though.

The Magic Item Compendium has an item that could pull off an effect similar to this. Page 194 offers us the Gloves of Endless Javelins. For a mere 7,000 gp, you get a pair of gloves that allow the wearer to conjure a +1 javelin made of pure force as a free action an infinite number of times per day.

I'm sure a DM would allow them to look like lightning bolts. Being force effects, they would even strike incorporeal and ethereal targets.

Sorry for the thread necromancy, I just like God of War.

Nope, I'm glad you did; it's inspiring. Good job. But only 15 levels...... hmmm, there's gotta be something to add.

Regarding Kratos' main swords, there was an actual build of them in an issue of Dragon. I forget which issue, although I know it was the one with Force Missile Mage.

Way to read the thread, sparky.

Hoho. I found this little nugget deep, deeeeep.. down.. and I simply adore the God of War games. I've even played the cell phone one, God of War: Betrayal. I'd love to see more work done on this.

My only thing is.. I believe Kratos should be higher levelled. He single handedly has killed mythological beasts, such as the Hydra and the Kraken, defeated other epic heroes, such as Perseus and Theseus, and let's not forget, stands toe to toe with gods and has killed some, such as Ares (though he was infused with the power of Pandora's Box) and the Sisters of Fate (no box that time!).

Even presuming Monster of Legend template, we're only looking at CR, what, 12-14? Well within the ability of a 15th level Warblade, and about right for soloing.

Gods, though... well, maybe we're looking at CR 20-22 "avatar" types. That'd be about right, for late-game Kratos, right?

Well, in God of War 1, he is able to defeat Ares, though again, at the time he was infused with the power of Pandora's Box. In God of War 2 however, he kills all three Sisters of Fate (two at the same time at one point) and nearly kills Zeus (if not for Athena's interference) who is the leader of his pantheon. And in Chains of Olympus, a more recent game..

Show
He kills Persephone and imprisons Atlas in the Underworld.

I would definitely go with the Kusari-Gama. That way you could use better melee feats, like Combat Reflexes.
Look at how many attacks that guy gets. CR is a good way to simulate it.

I actually would like to see that Dragon issue where the Blades of Chaos were recreated. Curious to see their interpretation.

The issue in question is Dragon #328. It is one of my favorite issues of all time. It provides a breakdown of the weapons Krato uses as well as providing a little information on his background/storyline. Hope this helps, and enjoy! :D

You wouldn't happen to mean the javelin of lightning, would you? ;)
