This is not about how it relates to polymorph or altar self or any of that, i've done countless hours of research into those departments. the one thing that this is about is items. the new errata states, and I quote "Any gear worn or carried by the druid melds into the new form and becomes non functional." This means that even if the new form can still use the item (for example a human wearing a necklace turning into a legendary ape) it does not get that item.. So that means a human cannot wildshape into a goriilla and keep things such as her human boots, gloves, necklaces, armor, or any of the which, unless they drop it on the ground and then replace it after they have switched forms. When was this errata announced and why has no one ever brought this up on the "Character Optimization Druid Handbook" That seems like an important bit of information since it severely nerfs the Druids Wildshape ability. |

Also, the trick always was to drop the weapon, wildshape, and then pick it up again. I thought the items always disappeared. Even before the nerf. |

There are many many errors in that book. What book is MIC? i do not know all of the abbreviations? Also could someone place a short discription of the Wilding clasps? I know they are 4k each but can you put them on every single item on your body? |

The handbook hasn't been updated to include the fact that your hit points don't change when you wildshape. The last update, as far as i know, was a bit after that, saying the defensive forms needed to be rewritten. |

| #6The_Orange_PetMar 29, 2008 23:45:51 | The Wilding Clasps only function if the assumed form could reasonably use the attached item. Thus, there is absolutely no point in using them when you can just drop/pick up the item if you could reasonably use it in the 1st place. |
