#1 kahless-sr Apr 26, 2014 1:10:08	Ok so I have a 3.5 lev 6 ranger but level 15 character with a dire bear companion I managed to befriend, I am needing to know how in the world I level my bear every other time I have played I never bothered with getting the companion so this is my first attempt at using a companion.   I would appreciate  being shows what my bears stats should be, shown how you came to these stats and  where to find said info on how to do this in book so I can do this myself in the future with other pets    I have looked at some of the other forum posts and a few looked promising but then totally threw me off   I appreciate any help I can get guys thank you very much.
#2 Krusk Apr 26, 2014 8:51:27	You can't have a dire bear companion.    Your ranger level is 6, and your effective druid level for your animal companion purposes is 3. A level 3 druid can choose a companion from the following list  A druid may begin play with an animal companion selected from the following list: badger, camel, dire rat, dog, riding dog, eagle, hawk, horse (light or heavy), owl, pony, snake (Small or Medium viper), or wolf. If the campaign takes place wholly or partly in an aquatic environment, the following creatures are also available: porpoise, Medium shark, and squid. This animal is a loyal companion that accompanies the druid on her adventures as appropriate for its kind.
