What do you need help with exactly? Race ideas? Feat orders? Item choices?

Just a little more information would be helpful.

Also, books available and stat generation.

The reason you didn't take swift hunter is? All in all, its much better than rogue/scout.

Basically critiques and ideas how to make him better, im hoping dm will allow a splitting bow. but the concept of the character is someone who can silently break into a fort, and stealthily dispatch foes.

ALL WOTC books, no dragon mag's or Bo9S. and since stealth is important i wanted to go rogue to use sneak dice. DM has never been a fan of arcane spell casting so wands of anything are pretty much out, and i was hoping to stay away from spell casting.

As far as my experiences can tell me, a rogue/scout combo isn't necessarily a good one, considering it's counter-productive.

Moving while hiding/moving silently isn't good for your rolls, making it somewhat harder to get both sneak attack and skirmish damage at the same time.

What combination of levels should i do for a scout/ranger for a starting lvl 10 campaign? ive never made a archer, let alone a ranger before.

Scout 4 gives you a feat, Ranger 6 gives you two of the weapon styles. I'd go with that.

Well, my DM just sprung a new rule on me.

its now we are allowed the PHB and one supplement.

honestly i dont know what to do, i mean i always had a huge selection of books to choose from and ide make some pretty cool character. the reason for the rule is that i am considerably more advanced than the rest of the party when it comes to any form of character optimization(we have one guy who refuses to take any form of combat enhancing ability's.).
