| #1tc_x0_lt_0xOct 10, 2008 1:45:04 | I putting together a Archivist. Like always, I get stuck on feats I want. I spotted a Archivist Handbook in the archives, but it seemed incomplete. So, I assume my stats are going to be as such: INT, WIS, CON, CHA, DEX, STR I think I'll take the two Dark Knowledge expansion feats as well. Around reaching level 9, 10, I'm going to jump ship to Holy Warden. So all I really require is feats to fill up there places. Not trying to be powerful, just I don't want anything that fills useless Though knowing the OpBoards, I'll have completely diffrent builds thrown at me. As long as they suggest feats though, I'm all right with that. Please and thank you =3 |

Also, a dip in a class that offers turning (Sacred Exorcist is a good one) - this allows you to go for Divine Metamagic. Other than that, everything depends on your focus of course. Still, Extend Spell and Quicken Spell are rarely wasted, so I'd start from those. Knowledge Devotion if you plan on martial combat, Persistent Spell if you have the means to utilize it, Rapid Shot if you go archery, etc. Enhancing your divine abilities (some reserve may be good) and extra metamagic is always good. |

Meaning that I can only use 1 type of Dark Knowledge against 1 opponent, and not be able to use another type of DK against that same 1. Also, is there a way to get Dark Knowledge against Humanoids? |

Also ask him what spell lists he'll let you access easily (druid, clerical domains, paladin/ranger... ?). Eldariel and the guide have good advice. If you're a Gnome, get the feat that lets you roll Knowledge checks twice. If you're not a Gnome, consider switching. ;) (I jest - humans, grey elves & co make good archivists too). Archivist 20 is fine. If you want to leave the class, Sacred Exorcist and the other PrCs that are good for a Cleric are good for you too (Contemplative, Church Inquisitor, ...). |

That's the only limitation though. Also, worth noting that it's a Move Action, meaning unlike just about any other creature in the realms, you can do something worthwhile with them. Also, is there a way to get Dark Knowledge against Humanoids? The listed types correspond to the types used to identify monsters, so you could easily expand the list with Knowledge (Nature) vs. Monstrous Humanoids, Plants & Animals and Knowledge (Local) vs. Humanoids (as per PHB). |
