| #1laeraanMar 22, 2008 21:23:13 | So a friend of mine decided to run a epic level game and is allowing pretty much anything we can think of. So far I tried an Astral Stalker Monk... was fun but a little broken. Half Black Dragon Minotaur of legend Barbarian...that was fun but still not my flavor. I wanna try a Warlock build..I found a few on the boards that look interesting but sadly I don't have all the books I would need. So I turn to you guys for help making some sorta uber warlock build..as long as its ECL 30 i could use it. |

If not then use Warlock 2/(insert high-powered ECL 20 Wizard build here)/Eldritch Disciple 8 and use Automatic Quicken on all of your spells. Another option is to look into the Magic of Incarnum book for the Soulcaster, and adapt it to be an Invocation-based class (so you get dual-advancement for Warlock and Incarnate) and be Neutral Evil, then grab Elder Evils and call it a damn(ed) career. This, IMO, is pretty decent. But a straight-up ECL 30th NE Incarnate can do everything the Warlock wants to do, only on freaking steroids. Now, I am being very generous with this. You have not told us what books you have available (and any that you do not wish to use) or done a basic EL 30 build for us to work from. Certain people on these boards would be quick to eat you alive for that, and then degrade this thread into Caturday for the lack of better entertainment. |
| #3laeraanMar 22, 2008 22:26:23 | Sorry meant to edit the post with some of my books and more about what I was looking for. Got a little distracted with the Kid and wife. Currently I have these books to go with but i'm open to suggestions from others. Book of Exaulted Deeds Book of Fiends Book of Vile darkness Crusades of Valor Heros of Horror Path of Shadow Path of the Sword Complete Advy/Arcane/Divine/Warrior/Scoundrel 3.5 Monster Manual along with MM2/3/4 Races of Destiny Races of Eberron Races of stone Races of the Dragon Races of faerun Savage Species Frostburn Libris Mortis Lord of Madness Unearthed Arcana Manual of the planes PHB and DMG of course and a few others I can't find atm. I was gonna attempt Pixie as a race and throw in the Half-Fiend template. The Magic of Incarnum book is out for now..don't think I have access to it atm. What book is Eldritch Disciple in..i've seen it..but can't remember where it is. If I have it I might try that out..if not I may move toward a warlock/rogue build and some PrC and go straight on dmg. |

| #5archerpwrMar 22, 2008 23:14:26 | I heart Caturday |
| #6sinfire_titanMar 22, 2008 23:17:59 | I heart Caturday Now is not the time, sadly. As much as I love it myself, this thread is not worthy of a Caturday. Yet. |
| #7playswithfireMar 22, 2008 23:43:23 | LA 8*/Swashbuckler 3/Fighter 4 (would be Warblade if ToB were allowed)/Soul Eater 7/Disciple of Dispater 8 Dual-Wield Necrotic Focus kukris, get the Improved Critical feat so you can crit on 9+, drain 2 levels on each hit, 4 on each crit. Look at Improved Energy Drain and Life Drain from Libris Mortis for extra fun. But that's just because I like Soul Eaters *assuming you stay a half-fiend pixie |
| #8archerpwrMar 22, 2008 23:54:55 | Now is not the time, sadly. As much as I love it myself, this thread is not worthy of a Caturday. Yet. Agreed. We hold the mighty overlord Caturday at bay for now. |
| #9sinfire_titanMar 23, 2008 0:16:15 | LA 8*/Swashbuckler 3/Fighter 4 (would be Warblade if ToB were allowed)/Soul Eater 7/Disciple of Dispater 8 Why have the LA when an Elan or a Warforged can do that same thing with a few feats and Soul Eater levels? |
| #10playswithfireMar 23, 2008 1:07:32 | Because he said he was going to be a half-fiend pixie. Personally, I'd do it with a Thri-Kreen. |
| #11ratpickMar 23, 2008 6:43:49 | Try this. Grab Midnight Metamagic, Improved Essentia Capacity and Persistent Spell. At Level 31 you'll be casting persistent Divine Power on yourself for practically free because of the wording of Midnight Metamagic: "Once essentia is invested in a spell, it remains invested until the spell is cast, at which point the essentia returns to your essentia pool." So, at the beginning of day invest six essentia in Midnight Metamagic to cast a persistent Divine Power on yourself, then invest those essentia at liberty in your soulmelds. Hell, you might as well cast persistent Righteous Might on yourself too, it's not like you'll be lacking in essentia, thanks to of your Necrocarnate levels. |
