I saw a reference to this in the gestalt resource thread, where it got rave reviews. I tried finding a guide for them but Search is being stubborn.

How do I build and how do I play a scout//warlock?

I haven't seen it, but if I had to imagine:

Scout/Warlock
Feats:Improved Skirmish

Move 20 feet, hit something with your eldritch blast for eldritch blast damage + skirmish damage + improved skirmish damage.

That seems plenty potent to me without having to do anything too complex at all.

After that,
get the greater invisibility invocation,
get the flight invocation and get flyby attack,
then not only are you doing huge blasts, but its damn near impossible for your enemies to pin-point where you are at the end of your turns.

If you're going to use the Greater Invisibility invocation, you might as well throw on as many Rogue loevels as you'd like to the Scout side of the build, and tack on the Swift Abusher feat, from Complete Scoundrel, so you can also get sneak attack damage to every attack as well.

If you want a ridiculously gigh damage build, I'd be willing to post one, depends on how high of damage you want. Cheese? No cheese?

I really want to try out Warlock, but I'm negotiable on the scout side. Heavy cheese upsets my high moral values, but the GM is expecting some serious effort to make your character kick butt and chew bubblegum. So yogurt or cottage cheese is okay. Also, the party has a combat monster, so something more along the lines of crowd control is what I'm looking for. I'm sorry if that's not what the scout//warlock is intended to do, I'm open to suggestions.

Please remember the fifth level limit, although an eye on the future is always appreciated.

Thank you very much for the consideration.

How about:

Scout 3/ Rogue 1/ Scout +4/ Binder 1/ Ranger 1/ Scout + 10

On one side of the build.

Warlock 9/ Hellfire Warlock 3/ Warlock +8 OR Legacy Champion 8

Feats:

Swift Hunter, Swift Ambusher, Improved Skirmish

Choose between more warlovk and LC depending on whether on not you want more invocations or more damage (LC will progress you Hellfire Warlock damage).

Swift Ambusher does not let Scout advance SA dice, only Rogue advances Skirmish.

The idea that Legacy Champion progresses Hellfire Infusion is questionable, and if allowed is almost certainly erring on the side of much stinkier cheese.

I much prefer the idea of adapting the Binding/Arcane PrC to Warlock abilities and then going with Warlock X/Binder 1/Hellfire Warlock 3/PrC Y.

With that out of the way, a simple Scout 4/Rogue 16 build serves on the other side. Your fortitude saves, however, will need as much help as they can get.

This leaves a lot to the imagination, such as feats, invocations, and tactics.

I'm sorry for being so newbie, but can I get more advice on this? I'm trying to read the guides but they're not built with gestalt in mind, so I'm having troubles seeing the synergy.

You want a BFC (battlefield controller) and to be a Warlock.

Combine my Blasterlock (in my Funny Quotes thread in my sig) with T_G's Wall of Gloom trick (in my sig) which is molery (Mole Handbook). Scout adds skirmish damage while you are using flyby attack to fulfill the movement requirements of skirmish.

Now fly around the battlefield blasting or 'invoking' while you are untouchable.
