Hello,

Thanks for your future help.

LA -.

Which while typically means "not suitable for players", I think the intent was for players since it has a cost, and a big one at that. The cost to apply the spells is the cost of the template, and as a DM I would permit it. Check with your DM to be sure. I view it similar to Necropoliton, another "LA 0" which does cost, but costs XP/gold.

There is none. You just pay to become spellstiched.

and after that? what's your effective character level?!

seems not so simple... i'm with SolEiji. it's not suitable for players, but just in case, i'll go for a +2 LA.

The way I look at it, if you pay someone a good amount to spellstitch you, or you pay the XP and spellstitch yourself, that's all there is. A Manual of Bodily Health +5 won't change your ECL, so why should being Spellstitched?

Just treat spellstitching as similiar to buying a item with spells you can use on a daily basis. The only difference is that spellstitching can not be taken away from you.

It does get rather expensive the higher Wisdom score you have. Especially since it uses your total wisdom score (and not your wis mod) to calculate the price.

You misunderstand me, I think it's wonderful for players, and fully thing it was intended as such. I'm just warning him that LA - usually means "don't use" to prevent confusion with other templates.

But yeah, it's like buying a Graft, a perma-magic item for your body.

what i'm seem here is a lot of RAI, when the entire board works based on RAW...

we're working around especulations, so, if a template improves a monster CR, why not it improves your ECL?

My guess would be that since wealth and the things that you can buy for it are a part of your ECL, something that you buy to get doesn't increase ECL. Monsters however doesn't pay anything for it, hence the increase in CR.

Complete Arcane has a listing for Spellstitched. I do recall seeing a second entry in another book, but the name slips my mind.
