Does anyone know of any builds that are optimized level for level, meaning that at every level the best choice for the character is taken.

further than no dead levels, it's always taking something that furthers the character's goal.

anyway, i thought it was an interesting concept and wanted to know if anyone had tried anything like that before.

The goal is not for an optimal 20 level build per say, although that would be cool too.

I feel like it's kind of like working your way through a maze, trying not to get stuck in a dead end.

im sure codzilla would take the cake but i think there are more interesting candidates.

Actually a lot of builds here are. About the only builds that aren't are builds made to simply accomplish a neat trick.

I see your guys points, and maybe it's a needless and slight distinction, but i was looking for something a little bit different.

an example of what wouldnt work would be really wanting a second level ability of a class that's first level does nothing for you, it could even be phenomenal for your character, but the fact that you have better options for the character than that 1st level in that class makes it no longer applicable.

It's possible with Bo9S classes - you learn a new maneuver at your highest level one way or the other. I've laid out a roadmap for my warblade's advancement up to level 20 so I don't get stuck in a dead end for maneuver prereqs.
