Limbless optimization

Recently I started thinking on how to optimize this:
IMAGE(http://wiki.rpg.net/images/thumb/e/ed/MPost12552-motivator7398773.jpg/480px-MPost12552-motivator7398773.jpg)

Here are drawbacks inherent with this character:

- Speed is 5ft (rolling on the ground).
- Always prone.
- Can't use hands for anything. (Well, this is obvious I guess..)
- Can't wear boots, rings, gauntlets or bracers.

And here are the benefits:

- Always prone.
- One size category smaller.
- A bit lighter than other characters.
- Shouldn't appear to be a threat in most combats.

I want to optimize this character without negating the inherent drawbacks, so no polymorph, alter self, wild shape or regeneration to get back limbs. Also, I'd rather not use renegade mastermaker or pale master to gain a warforged or undead arm.

Some classes I've already thought of:

- Monk. Possible in core, headbutting my way to victory. However, this is much weaker than a standard monk and therefore not desirable.

- Anything from Tome of Battle. With unarmed strikes and manouvers I could do some crazy stuff.

- Any primary caster. Possible in core, but requires still spell and eschew materials to function. Loses too much raw power to be desirable.

- Any primary manifester. I think this is the most powerful option so far, since manifesters have built in still spell and I can just be dropped somewhere when combat starts. Also, halfling combined with augmented compression could get +16 to hide from size alone.

- Warlock. At higher level this negates most of drawbacks, but in a way I find acceptabe.

Now, I'm not looking for any specific builds yet. I'm just gathering ideas for possible classes and races to use. If you think of any please share them. Thanks in advance.

I think it technically stopped being guro when someone put the bandages on her.

Hmm... If she were to manifest Metamorphosis, whould she be able to shapeshift into something that had limbs? If so, Druid might be a good option as well, if she could ever get to fifth level. (Actually, it might be viable even if her shapeshifted forms are amputees. She could just keep wild-shaping into snakes and eels.)

Who would attack a crippled sandwich? Nobody, that's who.

Combine that with full manifesting, and you'll be unmatched in stealth.

can we take this a step further, I mean honestly if your going to min/max, do the whole job!

I dare you to optimize a blind, limbless, deaf, mute, underage, goblin with some terminal disease :P (there that pretty much sums up all the "I wanna make a crippled hero" threads)

why not get some Grafts:

Elemental Arms and Legs

or Warforged Arms and Legs

but its expensive...... you might say "it will cost and Arm and a Leg"

or just get this:

Skin of Proteus: This psychoactive skin continually affects the wearer as the metamorphosis power. While in a form other than his natural form, the wearer does not appear to be wearing the skin.
Moderate psychometabolism; ML 7th; Craft Universal Item, metamorphosis; Price 84,000 gp; Weight 2 lb.

....then take any form you like...even youself with arms and legs

I supposedly had Asperger's syndrome when I was young, but the diagnosis was reversed over a year ago... in favor of APD. This means that I went on for 11 years thinking I was an Aspie, but the whole time the dick-ass that diagnosed me had just been smoking crack and I was really a sociopath (which makes the situation even more surreal because the two are not related in the least).

This was completely irrelevant.

Hmmm, guro... (what do the bandages have to do with that?)

Full manifester is an obvious pick.

Beguiler->Shadowcraft Mage with arcane thesis on silent image (or any other lead in to shadowcraft mage and still spell as a feat), late blossomer but more powerful than alternatives once it gets to its own.

Warlock with Supernatural Transformation twice for Eldritch Blast and Fell Flight, and otherwise only essence and blast shape invocations?

A singing Bard/Marshal/Martial Initiatior that functions like a cheerleader by buffing allies by proximity? Could double as a diplomancer.

Artificer, function as an intelligent backpack and make stuff for your party in downtime. No rules that I know of say you need hands to craft magic items when you have class features that allow you to avoid associated spells.

A level of Cancer Mage takes care of the disease. Aside from that, go Psion. Mindlink or Psicrystal Affinity allows you to communicate, Touchsight allows you to perceive your surroundings, and Psionic Flight/Psionic Overland Flight lets you move around. Far Hand and Telekinetic Force will even let you manipulate objects.

First off I think that a Warlock with Spiderclimb would be Hi-Fricking-Larious.
Is that a limbless child rolling across the ceiling? Yes, yes it is.

Flying and limbs and such kind of ruin the charm of being Torso-Boy.

Fiend of Possession would be really really fun with this idea, and would provide an alternative form of travel; possess a wheeled object (able to go faster and carry more than most characters albeit in limited terrain).

Ok here is what you do. Take Spellfire channeler out of Magic of Fareun. Go wiz 5. Then Spellfire channler 10, then grab another 5 levels of wiz. Strap yourself on the melee type in your group. Enlarge him, reduce yourself. Then talk like Master out of Thunderdome. Ask every single NPC: "Who run barter town?" "Say loud!"

This concept goes better with a wizard, but may work for a psion as well.

Originally I had the idea of her riding her psicrystal somehow. But seeing as how a psicrystal is diminutive, that won't do. So instead of a psicrystal, why not have her riding on the back of some animated object. An object preferably in the form of a stuffed, pink, anthropomorphic bunny of medium size under the effects of a permanenced animate object spell.

The closest power equivalent I could think of is control object, but that has a limited window of use.

I suppose you could be a psion, just have your wizard friend animate the bunny, stick your psicrystal in it's head and manifest to your hearts content. Whenever you wanted to communicate verbally to your psicrystal it looks like you are talking to the bunny. Give the psicrystal the friendly personality and conjure the following image:

Limbless girl (to bunny that she is currently riding): Shouldn't we do something? Those bad people are hurting my friends.

Psicrystal (disguised as bunny, telepathically): No, we should forgive them, they are just poor dumb creatures after all..

Limbless girl: But we love our friends don't we?

Psicrystal: Alright, please just be gentle though, remember last time?

Limbless girl: I'll only hurt them a little...

Just a few random thoughts...

Don't let me derail your Judge Judy of Greyhawk outtakes. I merely said I was a better person for reading this because I now have a deeper understanding of our party.

The Bard wants to just sing every round (only +1) and cast Sound Burst for d8 damage (we're level 10)? Fine, I want to play a limbless, blind, mute--I'll STILL be more effective! This helped me crystallize the root of the problem in our party, it's not the Bard, it's the person playing the Bard. His character's uselessness is only an extension of his own.

If my character dies again due to the Bard's lack of any useful contribution, I swear I'll do it. I'll play this character--a spider-climbing log boy; then blog it, level it, and flaunt it. And when the time is right, I'll PK the stupid Bard.
