| #1masterlinktmJul 22, 2008 22:48:36 | Hello all, I have a Human Rogue3/Fighter1 made here I have made. I kind of have him planned out to level 6 but after that I am kind of lost on where to go after that. The place one the time line is early middle ages...sort of. I am not quite sure but humans have been around for only a few hundred years. In addition, arcane magic is low to non-existent, while divine magic is fairly common place. The world is still green and large cities are rare. Our travels started in a small village in the woods. The peace of the land has been broken by strange and unnatural incressment of vermin in the woods. We have been told that the problem orginates from the mountains to the north. We have traveled out of the woods and are now in a large open plains...I think. We just passed through a town that was burned to the ground because the villagers were evacuating and our party leader (sigh) attacked the mayor. Anyways, I am building my rogue/fighter into an offensive charater of Netural alignment that likes to jump attack things. My stats right now are STR:18 DEX:14 CON:15 INT:16 WIS:13 CHR:11 My skills with ranks are: Skill-------Ranks Balance:----4 Bluff:-------3 Climb:------5 Craft-------6 (weapons) Diplomacy--5 Jump:------7 Listen:-----6 Search:----6 Sense Motive-----6 Spot ------6 Tumble-----7 Feats: Power Attack Leap from the Heavens Telling Blow Weapon Focus(Falchion) Equipment/Gold at the moment: +1 Falchion MWK Studded Leather Dusty Rose Ioun Stone(gift from DM) Shortbow and quiver of arrows I figured I would grab Leap Attack at level 6 since it is not a fighter bonus feat. As for books allowed all the Complete books, PHBII, the Races of X books, Book of Vile Darkness and Exaluted Deeds, MiC, and the Compendenium books. Most other books will be ok with the exception of Psyonics. They do not like psyonics much. While my main attack strategy is Leap Attack, I would like to have a back up plan and I am not sure what could smoothly connect with Leap Attack. Only other thing I really plan on is getting some sort of Improved Critical. I just love the threat range of 15-20 on a Falchion and then adding Power Attack to the mix makes me smile. Thanks for any and all help provided. ^_^ |

You won't be able to utilize the Intelligence to damage with your falchion, though. Taking a level of Warblade would allow you to swap out your weap focus feat for other weapons. Sadly, I don't see Tome of Battle listed on your allowed sources. |

That is an awesome idea, however, it is not quite the direction I was planning on going. I do not want to rely on Sneak Attack. I have done that before and I would like to tread some new ground. The main reason why I took those 3 levels of rogue was Evasion and to make some extra use of the huge threat range of the Falchion. As for picking the falchion I am using it because I just like it and in my backstory my charater's hero uses one. Thank you very much for the suggestion though. I will continue looking into it and may even use it for another charater. ^_^ |

| #5keyes2k4Jul 23, 2008 14:54:15 | You may want to take a level of lion totem variant barbarian (phb2) at some point just for the pounce ability. That seems to go along with your jumping on opponent's idea, but with a few levels in rogue your BaB is a little lower than it could be... Another option would be to take scout (CAdv) levels instead of rogue, as they will allow you to take more knowledge skills while retaining your trapfinding ability, as well as not hampering you as much if you wish to go ranged combat at any point. so here's my suggestion scout 1 (for the skillpoints first) 2 feats (take a flaw or go human) exotic weapon Proficiency: falcion power attack scout 2 scout 3 1 regular feat leap of the heavens scout 3/barb (lion totem) 1 scout 3/barb (lion totem) 1/ftr 1 1 ftr feat weapon focus falcion scout 3/barb (lion totem) 1/ftr 2 1 ftr feat weapon specialization: falcion 1 regular feat leap attack Scout 3/barb (lion totem) 1/ftr 3 Scout 3/barb (lion totem) 2/ftr 4 1 ftr feat improved critical: falcion Or just get a keen falcion. |
