Looking for a pixie-like race...

I'm returning to 3.5 after quite a while away. I had created a pixie-like character back in the day for a campaign that never got off the ground, and I'm trying to recreate it. I found the Pixie and Petal, but don't believe it was either of those. (their abilities don't fit the character. Pixie is pretty nice though, I may just ask the GM if I can strike the powers and keep the base concept for a slight LA reduction)

Anyone recall another pixie-type character in any sourcebook? It may have even been a non-wotc pub, I'm not really sure. I just remember the art was a black & white and it was a bit of a darker version. Think Pixie with attitude... =)

(the build will be some sort of wiz/bard/rogue gestalt)

Thanks for any suggestions.

One other question... I like that the petal is tiny, so I may consider going that way. How do you figure out what the stat mods are to play them as a PC?

Dec 29, 2009 15:19:25 Half fey mayby, from friend folio? Quite nice template, +2 LA, spell like abilities inceasing with HD, starting with charm (at will) and hympnotism (1/day) and feary fire OR glitterdust (1/day), good ability modifiers, flight...

Decided to go with petal. It's the closest thing to what I was thinking, and the DM ok'd it...

Jan 10, 2010 10:08:06 The petal is a great choice. Another low LA option is the unseliee fey template from dragon mag or the dragon compendium. It is a +0 LA template that moves your stats around a bit, can give wings, and makes you a fey.

Jan 11, 2010 12:59:37 what you might be thinking of is a fae race off of monte cooks spin off dnd product. artist sam wood made the black and white images your thinking of. they had three levels to them if you wished to milk all the fae goodness out of them. but i dont think were required to take those classes.
