| #1iamwardicusSep 09, 2008 9:58:49 | for an upcoming campaign i'm going to be making a half-ogre/half-minotaur w/titan bloodline character. i'm planning for paladin of tyranny 5/kensai 10/x 5 for the character. (note: the reasoning for this character is based on a previous storyline which we're completing at the moment - this character is the offspring of a couple NPC's in the current game). My main theme with this character is using a huge sized Aurorum fullblade (metalline enchantment asap) 2 handed for just plain big damage rolls for the party. my main focus is not losing the item or having it stolen. I'm considering having the item cursed and taking a -2 to hit/damage just so that it returns to me always but i was wondering if anyone knew of other ways to prevent loss/theft of personal effects. Thanks for any help ![]() |

Find away to place the spell " Geas/Quest " on the item and have it set off when someone other then yourself uses it. Something like " Stop, go back and return to the rightfull owner and apologize " seems basic but I bet you could think of something better. |

| #5idontmuchcareforitSep 09, 2008 13:36:39 | If you're looking for a wep that is perhaps a little more... exotic than a greatsword, let me suggest the Jovar (planar handbook i think). 2d6 18-20X2 Keen, Prismatic burst, speed is a good combo of enhancements, things explode around you... violently. I did it w/ a power attacking dervish, whoa. As far as being disarmed... there's a type of gauntlet enhancement that costs like 25 gp that hooks your sword to it so you CAN'T drop it. Sometimes that's bad though. Gloves of storing look pretty legit, although someone could just steal them... You could aways chain it to your chest w/ an adamantine chain. I'm not sure what exactly the ramifications of that would be though. |

Halve this number for Small weapons and double it for Large weapons. then increase size till you get Huge: Medium> Large> Huge 0 > x2 > x3(remember 2 Doublings is a Triple, 3 doublings is a Quad) 3x 8 = 24lbs 2)use Mithral: An item made from mithral weighs half as much as the same item made from other metals. thus the Huge Greatsword that would normally weigh 24 lbs... now only weighs 12lbs if made of Mithral... within the capacity of a Glove of Storing :D |

| #8phaedrusxySep 09, 2008 15:24:07 | He could do the Glove of Storing trick with a weapon with the sizing enhancement, though. Also, isn't there an item in the MiC that's like a Glove of Storing... but better... and cheaper? |

| #10tshernSep 09, 2008 15:28:59 | i know i saw something on additional Doublings.... do you have any links to what you mean? No, not right now, but I can look for them tomorrow. Stuff like Power attack ratios follow the way you did the job, but real world values don't. If you double the price of an item twice, 2gp won't turn into 6, but 8, right? |
| #11carnivoreSep 09, 2008 15:35:32 | nevermind .... found them.... hereMULTIPLYING |
| #12blargney_the_secondSep 09, 2008 16:39:04 | There's the Disarming property in MIC that makes you impossible to disarm. Also, a Crystal of Return would let you call it back to you as a move action if it's unattended within 30'. |
| #13iamwardicusSep 09, 2008 21:23:22 | The reason i'm doing the fullblade is just for the pure damage dice. My DM is allowing it because of my character background (I "almost" got the greathorn Minotaur Hammer - but he said no dice) and the face we have the AEG. we do mix and match 3.0 and 3.5 things based on what materials we have. I'm not too worried about weight, my strength is 28, and my con is 22 so i've the strength to swing it with ease and the stamina to do it all day :-p the crystal of return would possibly work, but i'll need to talk with my DM about how much cost it would take to increase the range to something very very large. I considered the chained gauntlets, but I know my DM and how creative he is with things and i know that it would probably decrease the characters life expectancy. weight of fullblade: huge - 115 lbs, gargantuan 184 lbs. my carrying capacity is 1-800 light, 801 - 1600 medium, and 1601 - 2400 heavy. Thank you for all the good ideas here! |
