Dec 19, 2008 15:21:53 Its typically better to post an idea build and ask for some critique. You will get a better response. There is a thread about the best bow somewhere around here that has a cool great crossbow build that is pretty OP.

Go with some kind of Elf (maybe Fire Elf from UA as per Carnivore's build he made of this) to get that Dex to 20. Yer Con can take the hit to 16.

Dec 20, 2008 7:04:41 There's never an excuse to take AA-levels beyond 2. And AA 2 is only worth it in otherwise full casting builds. You can get Greater Magic Weapon from the party caster which obsoletes all the other AA class features, other than the once-per-day standard action crap.

Anyways, what level are you starting at? What race are you thinking of? Which sounds better: Cleric, Arcane Archer, Ranger or Warblade? All make for decent archers with the right kind of build.

Best Arcane Archer-build would be something like:
Bard 8/Arcane Archer 2/Sublime Chord 2/Abjurant Champion 5/Sacred Exorcist 3

Star Elf would be the race of choice to pull that off, and it's worth considering Bard 6/Lyric Thaumaturge 3-entry instead for the extra 1st and 2nd level spells (e.g. True Strike and Web), but it's probably not worth it. UMD goes a long way towards handling all that anyways, and I recall there's some higher level Wizard-spell which allows you to utilize lower level ones.

legolas style, like shot and run with trumble etc

ONESHOT, like one hit down

Dec 20, 2008 9:28:20 Another Carnivore build used Horizon Walker to great effect. He snagged quickened SLA and would dimension door around while unleashing manyshots. It was pretty cool, though I forget the actual build. Something to consider.
