| #2agahi_renemDec 19, 2008 15:21:53 | Its typically better to post an idea build and ask for some critique. You will get a better response. There is a thread about the best bow somewhere around here that has a cool great crossbow build that is pretty OP. |
| #3feloniouselaDec 19, 2008 16:31:34 | Duskblade 5/ Abjurant Champion 5/ Arcane Archer 10 Go with some kind of Elf (maybe Fire Elf from UA as per Carnivore's build he made of this) to get that Dex to 20. Yer Con can take the hit to 16. |

You can get Greater Magic Weapon from the party caster which obsoletes all the other AA class features, other than the once-per-day standard action crap. Anyways, what level are you starting at? What race are you thinking of? Which sounds better: Cleric, Arcane Archer, Ranger or Warblade? All make for decent archers with the right kind of build. Best Arcane Archer-build would be something like: Bard 8/Arcane Archer 2/Sublime Chord 2/Abjurant Champion 5/Sacred Exorcist 3 Star Elf would be the race of choice to pull that off, and it's worth considering Bard 6/Lyric Thaumaturge 3-entry instead for the extra 1st and 2nd level spells (e.g. True Strike and Web), but it's probably not worth it. UMD goes a long way towards handling all that anyways, and I recall there's some higher level Wizard-spell which allows you to utilize lower level ones. |
| #6labugaDec 20, 2008 7:24:10 | ill take Elf or Wild Elf or Human, depends hehe i was thinking in an archer hide and hit, hide and hit or legolas style, like shot and run with trumble etc or ONESHOT, like one hit down the best one |
| #7Treantmonklvl20Dec 20, 2008 7:26:16 | Are you able to use 3.0 material? If so - you want the Peerless Archer from the Silver Marches sourcebook. It grants the archer threatened squares, power attack, and other goodies. |

| #9emyDec 20, 2008 7:56:04 | Worth noting: Arrow Mind, a 1st level spell, lets you threaten squares with your bow for 1min/level. Arrow Mind doesn't let you power attack though. ![]() Are you able to use 3.0 material? If so - you want the Peerless Archer from the Silver Marches sourcebook. | #10SenevriDec 20, 2008 7:57:14 | ...persist Arrow Mind / what spell it was again, on first level that grants that class feature benefit? *edit* ninja'd |
| #11feloniouselaDec 20, 2008 9:28:20 | Another Carnivore build used Horizon Walker to great effect. He snagged quickened SLA and would dimension door around while unleashing manyshots. It was pretty cool, though I forget the actual build. Something to consider. |

| #13ChristopherGrovesDec 21, 2008 10:16:07 | And really, Swift Hunter builds are pretty good archers. |
| #14phaedrusxyDec 22, 2008 11:52:00 | Worth noting: Arrow Mind, a 1st level spell, lets you threaten squares with your bow for 1min/level. This does. This is basically THE BOW. For builds, check out the Swift Hunter Handbook. It is probably about what you're looking for. Energy Bow Price: 22,600 gp Body Slot: — (held) Caster Level: 6th Aura: Moderate; (DC 18) evocation Activation: See below Weight: 3 lb. Simply drawing your fingers in the air near this finely crafted bow causes it to be strung with an arrow of glimmering energy. Hank’s energy bow acts as a +2 composite longbow that accommodates a user of any Strength. Although unstrung, it fires arrows of pure magical force that deal 2d6 points of damage. As they are force effects, the arrows do not suffer a miss chance when used against incorporeal creatures. The bow can be used to fire normal or magic arrows, but in such cases the bow does not confer its damage due to force. When drawn, the energy bow sheds light like a torch. In addition, Hank can use the bow to make power shots. To do so, before making attack rolls, choose a number to subtract from your attack rolls up to Hank’s base attack and add this same number to the damage dealt by the bow with any attack that hits. The penalty on attack rolls and bonus on damage rolls last until Hank’s next turn. Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, magic missile. Cost to Create: 11,500 gp, 888 XP, 23 days. |
| #15halinnDec 22, 2008 13:37:25 | It works, but your character has to be named Hank, since only Hank can use it to make power shots ;) |
