I am about to start in a campaign starting at level 6, it isn't likely to get higher than about 8 if it even gets there. Starting gold is low at 5600 gp and i want some way to compensate for that.

So far i have an optimised druid 6 worked out but i play druid a lot and i think i need a change. I looked at Illumian Fighter2/Warblade 3/Shadow Sentinel 1 or Warblade 4/Samurai 1/Shadow Sentinal 1 (for bastard sword prof), interesting idea and the +1 weapon from joining the class is a huge bonus to my starting gold.

Anyone got any other ideas i can look into to try and make myself stand out in a highly competitive group at level 6/7?
We are using a 25 point buy for stats and i beleve my group has at least one copy of each 3.5 book between us (plus a couple of 3.0 though they have to be personally given the yes by the DM on a case by case basis)

I like Gish (+divine casters) along with the whole Heavy armor + full BAB classes. Did have a look at Incarnium as i had that recommended to me for help with low starting gold but the only class that seemed to my taste was the soulbourn and that didn't get much in the way of meldshaping by level 6

Can you use Vow of Poverty? VoP druids have a reputation for being engines of destruction (all while maintaining a sacred alignment).

Incarnum actually has more potential than is readily apparent. Incarnate by the Numbers is a good read -- it shows how the incarnate class stacks up against a lot of the base classes in a variety of roles. A Law incarnate can deal as much damage as a fighter, while having more HP and enjoying some other goodies like spell resistance and miss chance.

I can take vow of povery sure, i do have a problem sticking to the vow unfortunetly and the last 2 times i used it the DM took it off meafter about 2 sessions lol

that incarnate by numbers thread looks pomising, will have to read it properly (will likley take some time, its quite indeph lol)

I would recommend the one man party of Mystic Ranger (Dragon 336) with Shooting Star (CoV) substitution, Sword of the Arcane Order feat, Favored Enemy Arcanists (CM), and possibly trading Track for Trapfinding (DS). Favored Enemy Arcanists + Nemesis is quite amuzing as well. More details about these amuzing combos here.

Well i think i have decided in any case, Incarnate 2/ Cleric 3/Sapphire Hierarch 1. (Azurin race gives the extra essentia needed)
Should be interesting in any case, hopefully i can find some good [Law] spells to go with my required domain.
Was going to take the War domain (from Heronius) to go with it for the weapon focus (longsword). the other one that struck me was obviously the Incarnum domain but im not too shure how good incarnum spellshaping is.

Hmmmm... Maybe have the rest of the team pick up either a profession/perform, play as an Artificer, and, if possible, say "I spend the next year making a thing which I sell for 2x the amount I made it well, and everyone else spent that time earning money with their profession as well" Your DM may well hate it, and make a plot wherever you are that stops you... But...

Anyways, I've seen builds that can get inordinately high skill checks in a feasible manner and still work. I just can't remember where I saw it...
