| #1frolornApr 14, 2008 1:15:06 | I've been wanting to make a wizard of starting level 6. Now, from what I understand, it's best to go with Sorcerers for blasters. But I wanna run with a wizard, so I've given up on the idea of the blasters. My 6th level wizard I want to be as effective in battle as possible, whether that be from casting damage spells or from controling the battleground, it doesn't matter. I know, that's prolly still too vague. But that's my only real preference that comes to mind. I've looked through these forms, but I've got into a bit of a problem. I only have access to the core books and OGL, so a lot of these other builds I cannot do. I also read that it's not worth it to take a 6th level of wizard, so I guess I'll need to either multi-class or get a PrC Additional info: High int. Everything else is medicore (some +1 and + 2 mods) So does someone have an idea on a build I can do with my limited resources? Like, what feats, spells and spell combinations I should take and everything? What multi-class/PrC should I get? Any help is welcomed, and thanks in advance. |

I went with Wizard 5 Loremaster 10 Archmage 5, majored (specialized in) Divination and slept throuh (banned) enchantment. I almost always had a need for at least one divination of each level (see invisibility is great for knowing when and where to drop that glitterdust). Other than that I focused on illusion and conjuration spells (in towns Color Spray is better than Burning Hands most times becuase it doesn't burn buildings down and just read the spell discription, it's a good low level spell). I would take several ranks in Craft(alchemy) at those lower levels those items can be really good ways to save some spells. Scrolls mage armor and shield always needed and this can cover them cheaply if you make them yourself (which as a wizard you can do neat uh?). Have fun! |

You can still pick up Scribe Scroll again later if your DM has lots of down time and you really want to create scrolls instead of the more meaty wondrous items... ![]() |
