| #2draco1119Mar 18, 2013 21:43:19 | If you're using unarmed strikes, why don't you have Improved Unarmed Strike? If you're using claws, why is your Improved Natural Attack for Unarmed Strike? Why use Warblade instead of Unarmed Swordsage? Why take 2 levels of PsyWar? That's just friggin' pointless, dood. |
| #3EruditeApeMar 18, 2013 21:50:47 | Jesus H. Christ at a hot-dog stand! Formatting, bro. Second, drop the lycan. go Weretouched Master. It's basically as good, only without losing all those levels. |

Darn, I went through so many itterations I failed to notice I had dropped IUS from the feat list. Beast Strike adds the claw damage to the US. Warblade for hit die and better BAB. PsyWar for Psionic Fist, Claws of the Beast (to work with Beast Strike in human form), and Expansion. Thanks for pointing out my Feat error. |
| #5aelryinthMar 18, 2013 22:04:08 | Were-touched master is an Eberron class that was errata'd and nerfed heavily. It doesn't provide near the stat bonuses of a real lycanthrope anymore. ==Aelryinth |
| #6TarlekFlamhairMar 18, 2013 22:09:57 | Jesus H. Christ at a hot-dog stand! Formatting, bro. Sorry, I've never posted a level-by-level build before. Guess it's a bit messy. As a Forgotten Realms character Eberron source books are not allowed. |
| #7EruditeApeMar 18, 2013 22:27:13 | Were-touched master is an Eberron class that was errata'd and nerfed heavily. It doesn't provide near the stat bonuses of a real lycanthrope anymore. I'm pretty sure that errata is much like MCXP. Nobody seriously uses it. It blows more than the world's largest porn studio. Sorry, I've never posted a level-by-level build before. Guess it's a bit messy. Look, there are a couple easy ways to do it. Examples: X 5/Y2/Z10/Y+3 Feats: In order. Or you could go 1) X - feats 2) X ... 6) Y - Feats et cetera. Look at Tempest's optimization showcases for a good example. As a Forgotten Realms character Eberron source books are not allowed. Why not? You qualify, and Shifters are in one of the monster manuals, so they're universal. That's like saying you can't eat Ethiopian food because you're in Memphis. |
| #8TarlekFlamhairMar 18, 2013 22:31:26 | Were-touched master is an Eberron class that was errata'd and nerfed heavily. It doesn't provide near the stat bonuses of a real lycanthrope anymore. A shifter would be allowed, a Weretouched Master would not. It's not a RAW thing, it's a DM thing. |
| #9draco1119Mar 18, 2013 22:34:06 | I can't believe I'm about to say this, but... I agree with EA. on, well, everything he said. ![]() @OP: 2 levels of PsyWar for powers that are affected (heavily) by Manifester level is terribad, dood. Don't do it. |
| #10EruditeApeMar 18, 2013 22:40:11 | A shifter would be allowed, a Weretouched Master would not. It's not a RAW thing, it's a DM thing. Ask him if he's ever had foreign food in the US. Or basically, ask him for a reason beyond "llolherpderpisedso." Seriously, it's stupid, especially given how well-integrated it is to the fluff of Shifters, and pretty much entirely divorced from the fluff of Eberron. @Draco: Of course you agree with me. I am, as always, completely right. |
| #11draco1119Mar 18, 2013 23:08:57 | Honestly, just tell him that Weretouched Master is nothing more than a 5HD monster class that you have to grow into & allows your PC to start at level 1. It's nothing more than the "latent magical power blossoms at puberty" fluff of lore. |
| #12EruditeApeMar 19, 2013 1:17:52 | Plus, really, a Shifter is always superior to a were-something. Actually having levels is pretty cool, you know? |
| #13TarlekFlamhairMar 19, 2013 6:34:44 | Thanks in Advance! This is a were-lion unarmed damage build. For story reasons he must be a were-lion (natural) and specialize in unarmed damage. The build itself is subject to change. Level Adjustment has been eliminated via Powerful Races at 1st Level variant on page 190 of PGtF. Stats listed are only for the hybrid form. Please tell me what I can do to improve his unarmed damage output and survivability. I have received enough input to know I need to go back to the drawing board. So I have deleted the build until I can revamp it. Thank you EA and Draco. |
| #14frost.fireMar 19, 2013 9:49:21 | Just because I'm on my phone its harsd to look at your build well but a few simple ways to up unarmed damage are things like size increases. Fanged rin (draconomicon) which gives you improved natural attacks for all weapons you have. Another option is the feat from tome of battle superior unarmed strike which counts you as a monk of 4 levels higher. Another faerun only option is the monk tattoo which I believe is magic of faerunand for a huge cost can give you 2 free monk levels. Finally spells like greater mighty whallop might be nice if you have a caster. Just some suggestions. |
| #15EruditeApeMar 19, 2013 11:37:00 | I suggest getting the claw shifter, and just callin it a were-lion. If you want unarmed, go Unarmed Swordsage. But, seriously, LA is bad. Really bad. You can't expect to survive at all when you're that many levels behind. Well, unless you stard going all Word on people, but that's likely to get books thrown at you. |
