| #1antman_3Apr 09, 2008 23:00:08 | I need a lvl 10 progression for this character. I will give you my vision for this character. I want him to be able to take simple things (well I guess they dont have to be simple) and be able to create things that will help us in are adventures and get us out of sticky situations like MacGyver would. I am thinking he should be a rogue/sorcerer or something along those lines so he can use his magic to aid him in his contraptions and stealth to break into things. Engineering is a must and any other skill that would be good along with that. I want Diplomacy mostly because it is handy. Also I am looking for a good guide to engineering and how exactly it can be used. That is my quick overview of my vision. We can use any core book and all the completes, mostly just anything that isnt forgotten realms or eberron. Also if I am missing any info besides stats (we are doing a 32 point buy I guess) please post it, I really want to get this character hammered out. |

More Int gives you skillpoints, not Charisma. Also, MacGyver was known for his intellect, not good looks. So I'd definitely pick wizard over sorcerer. Also, it's just better... |

What the hell kind of staement is that?! MacGuyver not known for his good looks, heather! All jokes aside, It's true, wizards are probably the way to go, unless you want something flavored like chameleon, which would work too. but wiz and Unseen seer is probably stronger. I still like The Doctor better, but Macguyver, yeah he's cool, lol. MacGuyver vs The Doctor...... Arcane + skills vs Psionics + Bardic Knowledge? Oh, think Bardic knack might be good for MG? Guide to engineering? Like a craft guide? MacGuyver could really be an Artificer too, I suppose, campaign books allowing. |
| #4gavinfoxxApr 09, 2008 23:21:56 | Factotum, maybe? Macgyver never used violence... so basically, its just going to be intelligence, skills, and trickery. Factotum describes this fairly well... |
| #5phaedrusxyApr 09, 2008 23:32:51 | Yeah, Factotum is probably perfect from what I read about it. I just have never actually looked at the book that contains it. ;) |

Perhaps some Nanobots as assistants unless that's un-MacGyver-y. Exemplar. Still, Humans get the extra racial bonus skill points. Combat/Master Trapsmith. |
| #7antman_3Apr 10, 2008 19:23:52 | Ok so I think that I am going to go wizard/Factotum, that is a really cool class, i just need to get the book now hehe. I am working on getting gear, mostly I am just buying random things to put into my bag of holding that may come in handy. If anyone can think of a cool item combination that would be great right now I am just hammering out the gear that will be used help me out. Oh yeah the lay out of the "map" we are going to be adventuring in is mostly cityscape with some outdoors which is mostly forests. I will go get the book then work on my character then post what I have, oh yeah also any suggestions for feats? |
