| #1silencherMar 01, 2008 2:26:13 | Hey guys, I was thinking if my wizard character gets killed off, so long as it isn't by a fellow party member, I might try to make a character based off of Guts from Berserk. You may not know what that is, but I highly recommend reading about Berserk on www.wikipedia.com. Long story short, Guts is an incredible swordsman who wields basically like a 'buster sword' from FF7, a very long, thick sword that he can kill large demons with. He also uses throwing knives and a repeating crossbow. He does also have a cannon built into his left arm, but I'm guessing there's no way to feasibly replicate that in DnD so I am leaving that out. I heard about a sword in DnD called the executioners sword that requires a certain strength score to wield it and it does a lot of damage+ the damage it does is both blunt/slashing because of its weight. This sounds perfectly like the sword Guts would use. I thought I saw a feat/prestige class that is NOT barbarian that grants the rage ability or something similar. Unfortunately I'm playing a wizard so I didn't note the feat cause it seemed irrelevant. Does this feat exist or am I out of my mind? Here's my problem, I think I'll need a lot of feats to really capture all the aspects of guts, so I was leaning toward fighter, but a big part of his character in the manga is that he goes Berserk... so I was thinking Barbarian. Maybe a combo of both would be good? Here are a few pictures, it may help. http://img474.imageshack.us/img474/8475/berserkps2guts3su.jpg http://www.toysnjoys.com/berserk/blackswordsman.jpg http://studentweb.hunter.cuny.edu/students/kkennedy/Berserk%202.jpg |
| #2ppaladin123Mar 01, 2008 3:05:13 | Barbarian ----> Hell Reaver prestige class from fiendish codex II. That gives your character "fury points" that you can use to increase damage, boost saving throws and AC. You might also want to use the hellbred race from the same book...they are repentant sinners who have been given a second chance to avoid an eternity in hell but as a result are twisted and evil looking and get a bunch of free devil-touched feats. If you change the flavor somewhat this replicates the experience Guts had during the eclipse (went crazy, had the mark of evil branded onto his neck, etc.) You might also convince your DM to let you take and modify the "eye of grumush" prestige class...those are orcs that cut out their own right eyes and ritually scar themselves...in return they gain blindsense and some improved rage abilities. Guts is missing an eye and a hand so that sort of fits. There is a feat chain that will let you wield oversized weapons but if I remember correctly it is long and not worth it... Oh, also...in champions of valor there is a feat for worshipers of Tyr...they get some bonus as long as they bandage up and do not use their right hand (Tyr is the maimed god). Maybe you can adapt that for guts as well. |
| #3sirlavandinoMar 01, 2008 6:26:59 | and what about frenzied berseker PrC ? fits well with some Gatsu attributes. |
| #4mflabiasMar 01, 2008 6:27:26 | I've watched the show and read only the first few manga, but I'm pretty sure that a Frenzied Berserker with some kind of specially shaped Greatsword/Falchion/Large Bastard Sword is what you're looking for. |
| #5sirlavandinoMar 01, 2008 7:36:58 | imo u should choose if u want to emulate Gatsu (ガッツ) before or after he takes the berserker armor....for the "afterGatsu" u should find some demonic armor with a frenzy-like effect that prevent u from distinguish between enemies and friends....or maybe a PrC with some demonic flavor..... the weapon is very complicated to find in D&D i think: a dragon slayer sword without any sharp...just a big block of iron...should be indestructible...and even if isn't sharp should slash anything :D |
| #6brainpiercingMar 01, 2008 8:23:38 | Berserker-armour/DS Guts is easily epic. Pre-eclips Guts is what you should look at for a normal campaign. For all Guts-like characters: Powerful Build is mandatory(wield a large weapon, i.e. pre-DS Guts). Rule-wise the Goliath race fits Guts wonderfully, although of course Guts doesn't look like one. The Dragonslayer is really simple. It says nowhere what a certain type of sword should look like, ergo: Huge (adamantine) greatsword with appropriate enchantments, like Ghoststrike (it can crit incorporeal undead). The Monkey Grip feat should allow you to now use this huge sword. The DS of course also needs a few house-rules, for instance: Using the DS and Improved Buckler Defence allows you to use the DS as a shield. The Berserker Armour is simply a special adamantine full plate. Since Dnd characters don't take negative effects from wounds it won't even need the ability to set bones and subdue pain, although it should make the wearer immune to fear effects and non-lethal damage, as well as critical hits and death effects. I'm too lazy to look for enchantments, now, but all that should be possible. Guts' rage is in itself no effect of the armour, the armour just reacts to his own inner demons and makes it harder for him to stop fighting. Which is why a Frenzied berserker build is just right for Guts, and the armour just gives him a penalty on attempting to stop the Frenzy. Epic Guts also needs a few custom epic feats, for instance: Penetrating charge: Against an opponent at least two size size categories larger, Guts can charge straight THROUGH him. This is a touch attack following a charge that deals quadruple damage. All in all, if you just want a guy with a large sword, take a Goliath and a large or huge Greatsword or Falchion in conjunction with any fighting build. If you want GUTS, then you'll probably need to houserule. |
| #7sirlavandinoMar 01, 2008 8:36:35 | actually the real name is Gatsu (ガッツ) and the rage effect is given by the armor in the japanese manga...it amplify his rage and make him loose control...do u remember the episode when he fights near the sea and they have to stop him trough magic? |
| #8brainpiercingMar 01, 2008 9:11:07 | actually the real name is Gatsu (ガッツ) and the rage effect is given by the armor in the japanese manga...it amplify his rage and make him loose control...do u remember the episode when he fights near the sea and they have to stop him trough magic? And you are also going to tell me that Griffith is called Guriffisu? That just makes me laugh. His name is Gats or Guts, just because you cannot write that in Japanese doesn't change it at all. Guts could rage before he had the armour, and he did multiple times. (Lost Children arc is the best example.) The armour turns that into a sort of frenzy. |
| #9the_shamanMar 01, 2008 9:18:14 | I'd probably make a fighter/barbarian/frenzied berserker. Heck, imo he's one of the best literary examples of FB. The fighter levels are there to represent his extensive training in arms and experience as a soldier. His big sword can be emulated with EWP Fullblade or Monkey Grip as well; I know they may be sub-par but it is an option. Actually, you could just stat his sword as a greatsword with a bit of artistic license. |
| #10sirlavandinoMar 01, 2008 10:32:44 | And you are also going to tell me that Griffith is called Guriffisu? That just makes me laugh. His name is Gats or Guts, just because you cannot write that in Japanese doesn't change it at all. no no really...i mean the original name was Gatsu but in the american edition became Guts or Gats.....but that's on the anime.....the original version is the manga and in the manga his name is Gatsu....believe me or not but here in europe was also translated Gatsu....Peace oh and also for Grifis is a manner or translations difference between the european/japanese version and the american one....for example here in europe isn't spelled griffith but Grifis (Griffith is a nore english name so maybe that's the reason u have different translations...) |
| #11brainpiercingMar 01, 2008 11:40:51 | You continue to go on about this. Look, there is no other way to write those names in Japanese. Miura Kentarou clearly depicted a European medieval world, where people had European names - like Griffith, Judeau, and yes, Gats (which is unclear, because it doesn't exist as an established name.) He meant those names to be like that, because the world was like that. It wasn't a Japanese world. If you take an English name like Griffith, try to write it in Katakana/Hiragana (I forget which is which) and then turn it back to romaji, of course you will end up with gibberish - like Gurifisu. It's still the same name, though - Griffith. Whether Gats is Gats or Guts is unclear, but it certainly isn't Gatsu, because the final -u-sound is almost un-pronounced anyway. It's like Americans messing up Japanese names in American movies and then insisting that their version is right. It's just wrong. And all of this is beside the point of making that character in Dnd - I repeat my claim that you can make him reasonably well, but not perfectly without houserules. I'm thinking of one thing, though: The Boneknight prc mechanic-wise fits Guts pretty well, except you can't take off the bone armour, and of course the Berserker Armour is not bone. If you get around the flavour parts of the bone-knight, you've got an almost perfect Berserker Armour. You then just need to combine it with FB and Fighter levels. Probably you could do the same with enchantments, too, though. |
| #12igbuttonMar 01, 2008 14:10:14 | Pre-eclipse I would say Barbarian 12/Fighter 8(Dungeon Crusher). You only need Barb11 for Greater Rage but the 9th level in Fighter gets nothing so go with Barb for the HD and 1 rage/day. No FB because I don't think Guts ever went so berserk pre-demon armor that he needed to make a will save to not kill his party members. Stats: Huge Con, High Str, High Dex, Average Wis, Average Int, Low Cha A few notes before we get into the feats. Guts chills in a very low magic setting so the item that allows you to use oversized weapons without a penalty(the name of the item and book it is located in escape me) is out if your going for that feel. If that is the case you need Monkey Grip even though it sucks. If you don't want the item and don't want Monkey Grip you need a house rule of some kind to get Powerful Build. Of course everything above is only if you want to use a Fullblade, a Greatsword will work. Must have feats: Power Attack Imp Bull Rush Imp Sunder Combat Brute Shock Trooper Cleave Feats to consider: Leap Attack Great Cleave Spring Attack all the way to Rapid Blitz(might not be possible due to preq. feats but dodge and mobility are rather useful anyway) Endurance and Diehard mostly for flavor I'm positive there are more damaging builds out there but I like to keep my stoof simple. |
| #13w00tmanxMar 01, 2008 15:00:03 | Pre-eclipse I would say Barbarian 12/Fighter 8(Dungeon Crusher). You only need Barb11 for Greater Rage but the 9th level in Fighter gets nothing so go with Barb for the HD and 1 rage/day. No FB because I don't think Guts ever went so berserk pre-demon armor that he needed to make a will save to not kill his party members. Where are combat brute, shock trooper and leap attack from? |
| #14mflabiasMar 01, 2008 15:01:42 | Combat Brute - Complete Warrior Leap Attack - Complete Adventurer Shock Trooper - Complete Warrior Learn to charge w00tman. Still playing DotA? |
| #15w00tmanxMar 01, 2008 15:10:43 | Combat Brute - Complete Warrior Heh, thanks Labias. No, I pretty much stopped playing dota months ago. I will play every now and then and I'm still pretty good, but it's lost it's luster. You still playing on Daniella's team? Hrmm... are those feats or what? I've always heard of them but have never actually read them. I always play casters, never martial classes ![]() Edit: Found the Comp War ones. Edit: Leap attack is really cool. I've seen combat brute before and it's okay. I don't really understand why Shock Trooper is so good. I mean I guess it's the AC bonus thing? |
| #16brainpiercingMar 01, 2008 15:17:04 | Theme wise the build should be: Fighter up to the eclipse, then barbarian till the time he gets the armour, which should be around lvl 20, then FB into epic. There are really not many magic items in that setting, and using too many would spoil the feel. Really I would only add enhancement bonuses to his weapons and armour. Let's not forget his other weapons: The cannon (which should be easy to house-rule) The rapid fire crossbow (crossbow with no reload time and fully number of attacks/round and speed enchantment) The throwing knives The DS can basically use an automatic advancement mechanism or one like a kensai. It starts out as a masterwork slab of iron, then gains enhancement bonuses and fist ghost touch and then ghost strike enchantments. Perhaps a shield spell effect, too? All payable with just XP. And finally, let's not forget that Guts has the Leadership feat and a little healing machine as a cohort. |
| #17akiirMar 01, 2008 15:17:17 | you said you need monkey grip when you wield a fullblade? thats wrong, as long as you take the excotic weapon prof. for it you can use it two hands without a penalty. |
| #18igbuttonMar 01, 2008 23:16:09 | No need for monkey grip on the full blade? No wonder it didn't make it to 3.5. The reason shock trooper is good is because of the Dungeon Crusher fighter alt levels at 2 and 6 give huge damage when you bull rush someone into a wall or tree or some other thing they can't be pushed through you deal big damage. Since Guts is all about some charging in and dealing big damage... Flavor wise I don't really think Dungeon Crusher fits but hey flavor is mutable. |
| #19silencherMar 03, 2008 9:00:22 | are there any feats to allow you to use a two handed sword as a one handed sword? I thought Monkey Grip but actually it doesn't do that it looks like. Also, does anyone have stats for the executioner's sword? It should be in the quintessential barbarian. |
| #20desyth150Mar 03, 2008 12:10:53 | IMO you'd go for something along these lines. Feral Template/Barbarian/Fighter/Frenzied Berserker Wield a Fullblade (afb, I think thats what its called) Take the feats mentioned a few posts above. Enjoy murdering things. |
| #21the_shamanMar 03, 2008 12:42:10 | are there any feats to allow you to use a two handed sword as a one handed sword? I thought Monkey Grip but actually it doesn't do that it looks like. I think that's covered by an epic feat which requires MG - Wield Oversized Weapon, iirc. It was in CWarrior, I think. |
| #22silencherMar 03, 2008 21:43:35 | My guy is going to be just a human, can't be goliath. What books are fullblades in? and fullblade is a type of weapon right? Also, I don't see any feat like that, wielding oversized weapons, other than monkey grip. Is there a feat that could make it so he could wield a two handed weapon one handed? Guts can, incredibly, wield the DS in one hand if he has to. Monkey grip makes it so the effort doesn't change. So he could wield a large two handed weapon, like a greatsword, ordinarily he couldn't. |
| #23igbuttonMar 03, 2008 22:03:28 | The Fullblade is from 3.0 it didn't make it to 3.5. 2d8 damage 19/20 crit requires exotic weapon prof(thanks aklir). It's a gigantic sword like the DS. Guts can wield the DS with his teeth and balancing it on his mechanical arm(book 3 of the manga). Which is to say he's an epic level character and you shouldn't worry about doing things like that until you you have an epic character. |
| #24silencherMar 03, 2008 22:06:30 | Okay, this may be a dumb question, but fullblade is 2d8 and requires exotic weapon proficiency... but if I got a large greatsword, damage would be 3d6 (per the chart on 114 of the PH) and would require Monkey Grip, although I would take -2 to attacks. thats 2-16 damage, one feat or 3-18 damage, one feat, -2 attack. So.. does it really matter which one? And is there a feat that could remove that -2 to attack? Also, I'm in a largely undead campaign, so I really wanted to get that executioner sword. Its supposed to be in quintessential barbarian and it should do 2d8 damage and the damage it does is both bludgeoning and slashing according to a member in my group. |
| #25desyth150Mar 04, 2008 9:25:43 | I really wouldn't worry about the weapon that much. Since Guts with the DS is Epic, focus on the sword he had during the actual Anime series. That wasn't anywhere NEAR anything requiring a different size imo. Yeah, it was big, thick, etc, but it could fall under Greatsword or Mercurial GS and still be fine. Remember, the weapon itself doesn't contain any description or anything. For the love of god and all things holy, please, please, PLEASE take the Feral template from Savage Species. |
| #26repeekluosMar 04, 2008 15:36:17 | I just now got into this series. Its actually really good. This is the one instance that I know of, where I like the Anime, better than the Manga. They leave puck out of the Anime. Thank god. Anywho, what about the titan bloodline? |
| #27desyth150Mar 04, 2008 15:58:41 | I just now got into this series. qft I thought about the Titan Bloodline as well. I hate puck. |
| #28silencherMar 04, 2008 18:28:01 | feral template? titan blood? Where is titan bloodline located? |
| #29desyth150Mar 04, 2008 18:39:11 | Its on d20srd.org, and Feral is from Savage Species |
| #30silencherMar 04, 2008 18:42:47 | I doubt my DM would allow titan bloodline, He only lets his buddy get special templates =\ |
| #31randomactionMar 05, 2008 0:38:06 | If playing/using Eberron material, then use the Mighty Arms construct graft in FoE. It allows you to use warforged components that can be placed on the hands or arms, like the wand sheath. Dip for a spell list, battlesorcerer or warmage for better hp, and pop a high powered wand into the sheath. There ya go instant arm cannon. |

Additionally, whenever an evil outsider or undead comes within a hundred feet of Guts for the first time that day, the brand gives off a sharp pain and bleeds profusely, causing him to lose one hit point for every four hit dice the creature possesses (rounding down). Equipment: • The Dragonslayer, Mastercraft Large Greatsword o The Dragonslayer is treated as a Holy Ghost Touch weapon for the purposes of bypassing DR and determining whether an attack hits. This is an extraordinary ability. o The Dragonslayer’s size provides a wielder of medium size with a +2 bonus to AC when they fight defensively or cover in the direction of their choice make a total defense action. • Berserker Armor, +1 Mithral Full Plate o While wearing the berserker armor, a wielder with the ability to enter a frenzy must make a will save to avoid doing so every round in which they engage in melee combat, even if they take no damage. In addition, they may not enter a rage unless already in a frenzy. o While the wielder is in a frenzy, the berserker armor is treated as a +2 Mithral Full Plate of Medium Fortification that cannot be removed by normal means. The wielder themself gains an additional +6 to strength and dexterity as a well as an immunity to fear, stun, nausea and death from massive damage. However, the damage they take every round is lethal instead of nonlethal, and the frenzy does not end normally as long as there are living or animate creatures within the vicinity. At the end of a frenzy, the wielder takes 1 permanent wisdom damage. o If the wielder has the deathless frenzy ability and would die at the end of a frenzy due to hit point loss, they instead heal to -9 hp and permanently reduce their maximum number of hit points by the same amount. • Prosthetic Arm o When equipped, the prosthetic arm can be used to hold metal items or help wield two-handed weapons. It also functions as a mastercraft gauntlet. o Arm Cannon, Exotic Medium Ranged Weapon (10’ range, 3d6 fire and 3d6 bludgeoning damage, 20/x2) § The arm cannon is a concealed weapon, requiring a DC 25 Spot or Search check to detect. If an opponent is not aware of the arm cannon, they are treated as flat-footed for the purpose of the wielder’s attack. § Reloading the arm cannon requires two full-round actions, each provoking an attack of opportunity § While in a grapple, the wielder may make a grapple check to attack with the arm cannon. If the attack hits, it automatically threatens a critical hit. • Ammunition and Gunpowder for ten shots. • 10 Fire Bombs, Splash Weapons (10’ range, 3d6 fire damage/1d6 splash, 20/x2) • Rickert’s Repeating Crossbow o This crossbow functions as a mastercraft heavy repeating crossbow with two exceptions: The range is halved, and the magazines hold ten shots instead of five. • 60 Bolts • 5 Mastercraft Darts • Mastercraft Dagger • Flint and Steel • 4 day’s trail rations |

| #36repeekluosMar 21, 2008 16:12:42 | Guts needs levels of Ranger. Favored Power attack with FBs power attack makes for a great dmg bonus. Also, with a bit of alignment finagling, you could take the feat "Nemesis" from BoED. I know its under the Exalted feats, but it shouldn’t be. It makes a lot of sense, since he can feel them via the brand. Edit: You could take the archery combat path, and get a feat out of the way while your at it. Fighter-6 Ranger-2 Barbarian-2 FB-10 |
| #37mflabiasMar 22, 2008 22:14:05 | Heh, thanks Labias. No, I pretty much stopped playing dota months ago. I will play every now and then and I'm still pretty good, but it's lost it's luster. You still playing on Daniella's team? Hrmm... are those feats or what? I've always heard of them but have never actually read them. I always play casters, never martial classes I don't know who Daniella is so I guess that means 'no.' DotA is definitely one of the least rewarding things I've ever done in my life but I can't stop. Shock Trooper is good because you can just ditch your AC to regain your attack bonus. Like, if you take -10 to hit, you can take it back to -0 to hit and just take -10 AC instead. When you combine that with Improved PowerAttack, Two Handed Weapons, Leap Attack, etc. it gets ugly. |
| #38kazumoshunMar 23, 2008 19:48:37 | What, no Warblade after the Eclipse, so he gets a timely Iron Heart Surge along with other things? That'd also let him end his rage just in case he goes wild. (you can use maneuvers in a rage too) |
| #39ossianApr 14, 2008 17:55:32 | Hi folks! What a neat thread, just what I was looking for. The level in ranger is perfect, but just one. Gatsu is definitely stalking "hellspawn", which in the saga includes many subtypes: outsiders, undead, ghosts, incorporeals, vampires, wraiths. This, coupled with Favored Power Attack i just screaming "GATSU!" Given his amazing attack bonus I wouldn't mind if he chose a huge greatsword, which normally would give him a -4 to hit. If you picked Monkey Grip (cut a -2 away) and the appropriate EWP, as a GM I'd be flexible and let you use that huge slab of iron at -2 (and who would notice it?). He's a berserker, but not really like the Frenzied Bersk from CW, although some traits do fit well. You could still simulate them with the appropriate usage of Great Cleave and Spring attack, or whirlwind attack (when all the mooks, kushan, mercs, soldiers, alligators and whatnot surrounding him just inst-die as if ran over by a truck). The Titan build look neat, but the cool thing about gatsu is that he i "just a man", as he gets that line in his face every other fight, uttered by apostoles and demons. Plus, there are some things past level 8 that are just too full of cheese. Levels wise I guess that he starts as a Fighter. I'd progress as a Fighter until level 8 (just before the eclipse). level 8 is loaded with bonus feats and makes him a top level combatant. The eclips hits, and he gets his fury and his blood mark. One level of Ranger (as he starts stalking those monstrosities, and a level 9 BF). Then a couple of levels of Barbarian and Fighter again, then go Avenging Executioner from Complete Scoundrel! Look at the prereqs: Alignment: Any nongood (well, he is not..) Base Attack Bonus: +5 (way above that) Skills: Hide 4 ranks, Intimidate 6 ranks, Move Silently 4 ranks (he has them by now) Special: Must have been tragically wronged in some manner. Stuff like sudden strike, rapid intimidation, bloody murder and dread blade (all from A.Exc.) is just screaming Gatsu from every pore! This should be Gatsu somewhere near his meeting with Zodd at Godor's mountain. FTR 9/RGR1/BRB5/AEX5, which matches pretty well Zodd's statement that "possibly no living man can defeat you". After that and his quest to find the land of elves just throw in at random levels of Barbarian and Fighter, at leisure. Judging from the last tankobon I read (Vritanis square off with Daiba) I'd leave him as FTR 10/ BARBARIAN 8 RANGER 1/ AVENGING EXECUTIONER 5. Give him a Huge greatsword that can hit ethereal bodies and bypass the DR of infernals, EWP with it and monkey grip. Adding more barbarian levels sounds like overkill, since his stats have already enjoyed 6 boosts and he's insanely powerful (what are we talking here? 4d6+3d6+50 damage on a sudden full favored power attack?) Ossian PS Frenzied berserker totally belongs to the Armor... |

| #41Khan_the_DestroyerApr 14, 2008 22:15:02 | How long is the manga? I literally finished watching the anime yesterday, and was severely disappointed with the ending. My friend said that they intended to do a second season and never did. I was going to help with this request, but you guys are referencing all sorts of stuff I don't know about. |

So a Heavy Fullblade would cost you two exotic weapon proficiencies and get you 4d6 damage with no attack penalty. The Exoticist Fighter variant may be worth a look, though the crystal keep doesn't have all their bonus feats listed. Then you could pick up firearm proficiency too. Khan: The manga is over 31 volumes, and I believe the anime covers only the first 13 volumes. |
| #43brainpiercingApr 15, 2008 3:10:47 | The anime covers only a very short part. About from the beginning of Volume 4 to somewhere in volume 13. The manga is now in volume 33 in Japan (and the author is taking another break), and not nearly close to finishing. |
| #44mflabiasApr 15, 2008 6:44:45 | Gutz isn't feral at all. Frenzied Berserker is seriously the way to go. |
| #45floatlikeabeeApr 15, 2008 11:27:38 | While Fullblade isn't 3.5 legal, if we hop over to Player's Guide to Arcanis, the Amplus Machaera (Grandblade) is it's easy cousin (2d8 exotic 19-20 crit, slashing 2-hander), and has an actual basis in history (horse-cutting sword) and while it's creator hates it for causing Gatsu clones that happen to permeate Living Arcanis, looking at it, you can tell that whomever did the concept art was a Berserk fan. As far as the rest... To be frank, I'd like to see Guts with some Stone Dragon and Devoted Spirit love. That's right, Guts as a Barb (Lion Totem)/Crusader/FB (no further than deathless)/Hellreaver. Let's see this happen! |
| #46ossianApr 16, 2008 2:34:34 | Many many interesting takes on the Dark Swordsman. Inspired by some stuff I read just here, I gave it a shot. Here is what it looks like, although I'll be checking the material suggested by Float Lika a Bee and see if I can adjust my aim. Beware, long post ahead! (it was copy-pasted from another message board, hence all the bulletpoint guidelines). Let's say this is a draft, and let's also say that it came to my mind after reading the avengin executioner PrClass (Complete Scoundrel) which literally begged me to stat the BFS wielder we all love, fear, respect and whatever. Oh, and in the text there is also some stuff from the excellent post from Cyphrus (some things I modified) So, I am going to edit this post according to feedback and further development of the character sheet. Please note that I would love to develop Gatsu according to what happens in the story, as if he went through all that nightmare, a bit like as if he actually was a D&D character. After all, it's a bloody and cruel and ruthless low magic campaign. Nothing d20 cannot handle...And we can add the nippon flavoring. I also need your feedback on some degrees of optimizations. While I get often criticized for making 'lame' character, I guess that the real point is that my power-meter is different. Normally, for me level 15 is epic badass, some leagues above king Leonidas. Level 15 is Goku or the Spartan from Halo! So, this is why I have tried to keep Gatsu low. Still, I had to use the 24 levels (not so sure about the exotic weapon master though. with all that damage in sundering it's kind of overkill). Bear in mind that I don't think Gatsu is invincible. Just that he did not lose in the story we read. To make him unbeatable under any circumstance, and with all he's been through, he'd have to be level 40. Yet, I guess we agree that with all those broken bones a-la-o-chul he didn't become "THE" berserk without breaking a sweat. Finally, a bunch of points which might help being constructive: Show

| #48nistraSep 21, 2011 4:38:59 | Monkey grip + strongarm bracers (MiC) + Huge Fullblade = Can't get more Guts-y than that.A dm once allowed me to take it as a martial weapon and I oneshotted a tarrasque on lvl 16. He was mad. |
