In the phb, it says trip can be used as part of an attack, and therefore can be used multiple times in a full-round attack. With the trip throw ability, would i be able to do a full attack action where i do damage with each throw and try to trip? Any other pointers for maximizing the build would be great. I have 4 lvls fighter and some rogue. Key feats: weap focus, ranged weapon mastery piercing. My weapon of choice for throws is the Barbed dagger from Cadv. I have access to many books, but my DM abhors the Tome of battle/Magic books. Aside from that every 3.5 official material is allowed. Also he's a city climber, throwing daggers from the rooftops. |

This just means that you can replace any melee attack with a trip attempt. In a full round attack where you have more than one attack, you can make trip attempts for every attack if you wish. With improved trip, you get a free meleeattack on a successful trip attempt. The thrown weapon trick, trip shot, states that you make a normal thrown weapon attack against an enemy more than 5 feet away, not a touch attack as a melee trip attempt would be. Complete Warrior does not allude that you cannot use more than one trip attempt in a full round attack action, as the book refers only to the type of attack and not the type of action used. That's my answer, at least. |

Check w/ DM regarding "normal" attacks and MT Trick Weak Spot though, which allows to attack against Touch AC. Telling Blow (PHII) ..if you don't have this feat, get it Make full attacks and rely of crits for sneak dice Note: TB is just another trigger method for sneak damage dice Only get sneak dice once, so if target is Flat-footed and confrim crit; still only get sneak dice one time per attack. TWF feat chain, better the Rapid Shot, imo, as it's also useful for melee. If character has a good int mod 3 lvls of Swahbuckler and Daring Outlaw (feat) Whisperknife (RoW) iirc I've never gotten to use that source, but it mixes nicely w/ MT for abilities and pre-req's. MT Tricks: Deadly precision, increase crit multiplier by +1, Again the MT Imprv crit proves it's worth again; so daggers would be 17-20 x3 |

DM's I know, also include all precison-based damage including Swashbucklers int mod to damage, as only available to one dagger, not both. For that reason, and that it caused me to go through daggers faster, it's 4th on my list of tricks. I prefer Deadly Precision, although PT may possibly give better avg damage in long run I found that once I had the Imp Crit for thrown weapons that Deadly precision surpasses it in use/effectiveness...unless your fighting things that can't be crit'd. Pick up a Scarab of Golembane; it's real handy to overcome golems DR and tripping golems is fun. |
