Maximizing minions

May 09, 2008 3:19:43		I'm kicking around a few ideas for maximizing leadership. What do you guys think of these builds? Note that all the Erudites are the Convert Spell to Power variant.

Necropolitan Grey Orc Erudite 5/Thrallherd 10/Orc Warlord 3/Subverted Psion 2
Feats: Inquisitor (1st level), Wild Cohort (3rd level), Might Makes Right (6th level), Undead Leadership (9th level), Blood of the Warlord (12th level), Lunatic Insight (15th level)
Unfortunately, he suffers a bit from MAD, but with the benefits of the Thrallherd class and Might Makes Right feat, he should do okay without too much Charisma.

Necropolitan Grey Orc Erudite 5/Thrallherd 3/Subverted Psion 9/Orc Warlord 3
Fewer mind control powers than the first one, but more minions, trading in the extra thrall for a trio of Tainted Minions. He should be able to

Necropolitan Water Orc Bard 6/Lord of the Dead 5/Orc Warlord 3/Silverwood Arcanist 5/PrC 1
Bard buff and mind control spells as a level 17 bard, with the Lord of the Dead class providing more buffs, and the Silverwood Arcanist improving his relationship with his mount while improving spellcasting.

Necropolitan Grey Orc Druid 6/Lord of the Dead 5/Orc Warlord 3/Beast Heart Adept 6
Trades in six levels of casting for a pair of monster companions. Fortunately, said casting is somewhat more potent than the previous build.

May 09, 2008 12:31:53 		All you need to have a good Leadership score is Thrallherd.
A thrallherd’s Leadership score is equal to her character level + her Cha modifier + her thrallherd level. (Note that her thrallherd level is counted twice.)

So at level 20, you'd have a score of 30 before charisma mods. Even with a 1 charisma, you'd still have a 25, which is the maximum on the chart.

I didn't really look at your thrall builds, but there is a thread on getting use out of your believers by Lilt you might want to check out. It is called the Minions thread or something like that. You can find a link in Surreal's Handy Links thread (top of the forum).
