Hey all, looking to make a sorcerer with a ridiculously high Caster Level for a one shot level 20 game that I was just informed will be in two days.  Everything is open, looking to crack things as hard as possible damage dealing wise (short of infinite actions, etc.)

Party breakdown:
-Enchantment Specialist Wizard (debuff/mind control) Shadow weave, master specialist, BC+Debuffs and some mind control.
-Tankish smashy character (fighter/barbarian/rogue?) Not sure, sounds like a BSF.
-Mailman Sorcerer extrordinaire(Me)

We're aparently going to run a fight ramp of a session or two, starting with the Tarrasque and moving up in difficulty.  I wouldn't normally be worried, but there's only three of us, so I'm looking to do absolute frack-tons of damage, while maintaining decent survivability.

Build
Sorcerer 6/Spellthief 1/Knight of Valor 1/ Hlaruaa Elder 5/ Argent Savant 1/x6?

With the master spellthief feat combined with circle magic, I'm looking at a caster level of 80ish, which should let me 1-shot quite a few things with wings of flurry(80d6+80 damage... before metamagic, for a 4th level spell?  Hell yes!).

2 problems:
1. any suggestions about how to pull this off and still get 9th level spells?  Not having them will really hurt in the higher combats.
2. Suggestions for PrCs to finish out the progression?  I'm looking to focus on metamagic, but incantrix is right out, there just aren't enough levels(at least that I could figure out).

Thanks for any suggestions!

Open up your Shining South book to the magic section and read up on the spell streamers.

Then try to get your DM to allow you the feat reserves of strength from the Dragonlance Campaign Setting.

A great PrCs for pure damage is the War Mage [DLCS], which nets you +3 damage per damage die (as well as a number of other fine abilities). The downsides are the obscure source and the prerequisite feats.

Incantatrix is great for metamagic cost reduction (and other assorted brokeness)

Get practical/easy metamagic and perhaps Arcane Thesis for even more hillarious MM stacking results.

Also, get a bucket of dice.

Well, with a little looking I've realized the damage number I'll be throwing are enough that I can drop Argent savant, though it stings somewhat.  Easiest thing to do after that is bite the bullet feat-wise and go Archmage for shaping(not killing party, yay!) and mastery of elements (for when, god forbid, force damage can't solve everything...).  Two levels there plus five in Spellward Sniper puts me at twenty.

With a moderate amount of feat investment (empower, twin, and arcane thesis wings of flurry) and the hlaruaa elder class features, I can throw a twinempowered WoF at a caster level of 84(ish, can get it higher).  That gives me effectively 252d6 force damage for a simple 6th level spell slot.  With an average roll, that's enough to take down the tarrasque.  If they're not immune to rays there's not even a save as well...

Where is the war mage prc from?  I can't find it... pretty much anywhere.

Oh... wow.  That's darn handy.  Swap spellwarp sniper for that and I'm golden, and it repays the silly entrance feats mostly with bonus metamagic... 252d6+756 force damage really will put the tarrasque down...

Thanks guys!  We ran the 1 off tonight.  I was almost able to keep up with the hulking hurler build by myself, and in the final fight of the evening, I killed an Ancient Wyrm Prismatic Dragon(CR 66) in the first round before he could act.  Kind of blew me away.

Cheers!

Care to give us your final build?  Feats, skills, spells items and all?
