| #1hellfirewarlockDec 27, 2009 14:41:02 | Would the spell Mind of another from here allow you to get an insanly high int score? If so, and I beleive it does, what is the highest natural int score from any of these types:aberration, animal, beast, fey, giant, humanoid, magical beast, monstrous humanoid, or vermin? Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but it seamed that it would apply here as a way to optimize a characters int score. |
| #2l00mxDec 28, 2009 7:15:49 | It seems to me that, yes it does allow you to increase your Int score to that of the specified creature type, but you would no longer be you or rather your goals and motivations would now be the same as the creature whose intelligence you have taken on. What exactly was your plan? EDIT: Oh and off the top of my head I'm not sure who has the higher Int. |

Best INT score is likely had by the Black Ethergaunt (an Aberration) with a whopping +20 modifier. |
| #4hellfirewarlockDec 28, 2009 9:31:47 | My plan was to use it at birth on a character or npc and use social conditioning to be able to say that the character/npc thinks the way it would have been raised. Ex: raised by drow(evil) means that you are socially conditioned to be evil. Raised by dwarves=socially conditioned to be good. This would get around the whole evil mind thing. but you would have to have the creature that you take its mind be an infant. This probably wouldn't ever get passed a DM, but it would be a great tool to have an NPC with massive mental scores that appears human. And thanks for the replies. Edit: what book is the black ethergaunt from? Edit:found it in Fiend Folio, if their is a newer version plz point it out, thx Edit: would you get the (Su0 abilities of the creature? I don't think you would, but I could be mistaken. |
| #5_inertia_Dec 29, 2009 6:46:07 | Hmmm... what would happen if you target yourself and share the spell with your familiar / companion? |
| #6hellfirewarlockDec 29, 2009 13:12:10 | well unless I'm mistaken, it would give both you ant it the inteligence of whatever creature you chose |
| #7jetstrike3000Dec 29, 2009 13:32:10 | WHat he is asking is if he chose himself as the target of the spell which would cause him to gain his own int. Would his familiar gain his int as well if the spell is shared |
| #8jitsunetDec 30, 2009 6:12:38 | Rereading the spell, my idea of 'cloning' yourself via your familiar won't work. You get the average intelligence of the creature you target, which for a human would simply be 10. Furthermore, the spell does not state that you gain the personality of the specific target, only the personality of a 'normal' creature of the same type. No awesome cosmic power. BTW, can anyone tell me how to fix one's display name? I can't seem to get the forums to show my account with a capital-N (JitsuNet). Thx. |
