Medium Size Dragon under 6 HD

May 17, 2008 22:49:12 A quick CO question (difficult yet easy). What dragon has Medium Size, Flight Movement, is under 6 HD, and can have a max of 4 LA

(this if for E6, the LA is going to be turn into point buy)

Books any.

Has to be Medium Size to get 1 Bite 2 Claws 2 Wings as part of a full attack.

May 17, 2008 23:40:20 I don't remember what size, but the Ambush Drake is a dragon with a (crappy) flight speed and no LA. 7HD if I recall correctly, so it might not work for you.

May 17, 2008 23:49:39 nope won't work for it is 1 HD too high. (E6 only allows 6 levels/racial hit die), after 6 levels you start getting feats not any more levels for xp.

Edit: or wyrmling bronze.

Both are small though.

could but it isn't really practical for almost all psionics require a psionic dip.

Well there is psionic tatoos. If you allow Hyperconscious, you can get permanent ones. I just don't have Hyperconscious next to me, and I doubt the DM will allow permanent tattoos that refresh each day.

The best option may instead just be a mecury dragon and optimize to hitting with a full attack, and running before they can hit back.

I know their is mouthpick weapons, but is their any weapons where you attach a sword or something to your tail for monsters?

sigh and under 3.5 rules (not the quasi 3.0 that savage species is) are the considered light, one handed, or two handed for power attack?

I don't have serpent kingdoms so I can't look up the tail scythe

The Tail Scythe is listed as a 1-handed weapon and, looking at SS, it looks like the Tail Blade/Club are also 1-handed.

I personally LOVE tome dragons (especially with the spellhoarding dragon psychosis thing, oooh, awesome wizard!), but that's just me...

May 18, 2008 5:30:47 Nothing beats Rust Dragon(Draconomicon) as far as I'm concerned. It's exactly 6HD though, so you wouldn't be able to throw in Lion Totem Barb/ Soul Eater/whatever you're planning. It's also small.

I doubt you can buy 8th level spells in an E6 game, but I could be wrong. You could try something like Dragonwrought Kobold (or other draconic race) Psion1/Wiz5 with Practiced Manifester and Metamorphic Transfer, though. Alter Self into the 5 HD dragon of your choice, and use its breath weapon 3/day. You get natural attack routines with Alter Self already.
