| #2cruJun 26, 2009 2:24:39 | Bard is a good base class for MJ. But the undead grafts on his face - not a wise choice. Or was that a result of a failed Ritual of Crucimigration? That said, MJ really did not need to become necropolitan in order to be immortal... |
| #3frostwolfJun 26, 2009 2:51:28 | Either wild cohort or obtain familiar (For his monkey) And frightful aura. (he was one creepy dude.) |
| #4mining_monkJun 26, 2009 3:12:58 | Needs fabricate for forming a plastic face. ![]() |
| #5SenevriJun 26, 2009 3:50:35 | He died? Oh... oh dear. Let's see.... Deformity(skin) of some sort is appropriate. a bit Taint (depravity), perhaps from the tainted world of music... Bard, definitely. Fascinate boosted to the max. Not a Beguiler despite what anyone says. Snowflake Wardance, maybe. Leadership definitely, Sublime Chord or Seeker of the Song, or Virtuoso are appropriate. Ah! Cloaked Dancer is actually quite perfect. In fact, Magical Trickster and Master of Masks fits too. I think he needs high level spells in order to access Body of War (Moonwalker), and maybe he went for dirgesinger or Master of Shrouds (Ghosts). ... Ooh, there's plenty of interesting options here, really. I may have to drop him on my campaign. |
| #6kelb_havocJun 26, 2009 4:33:49 | This thread was probably a bad idea and I'd be willing to bet it gets locked before long. That said, bard is pretty obvious, and somebody said cloaked dancer. That sounds about right, but dirge-singer seems a must, how else could he have done the thriller video? :P I'd like to note that while I found MJ's character to be somewhat questionable, I think it is in extremely bad taste to speak ill of the dead, and hope that most everyone else will keep the name-calling/cheap-shots to a minimum, if not avoid them altogether. |
| #7emyJun 26, 2009 4:48:48 | Undead Leadership to have minions perform the Thriller dance. |
| #8sofawallJun 26, 2009 5:08:06 | I thought the traditional method for Thriller was Exemplar using Perform (Dance) instead of Diplomacy on a bunch of necropolitans. |
| #9SenevriJun 26, 2009 6:19:32 | Well, the critters in the video are clearly zombies... So... 1. Be able to use Bardic effects on undead 2. Fascinate the zombies 3. Suggestion: "let's dance". |
| #10BadCatManJun 26, 2009 6:46:41 | Michael Jackson actually died in 1983 during the filming of the Thriller video, but he rose from the dead as a well preserved zombie (or possibly a vampire, post-post-mortem pending) and went on to have a successful career, proving that death is not necessarily a handicap. He maintained his condition by drinking the blood of children, but supplies were, of course, limited. In time, his condition deteriorated, manifesting as pale skin, skeletal features, and finally signs of rot in his nose and reduced brain functions. Michael Jackson died a second time in 2009, after complications caused by a wooden stake. He's definitely some kind of undead. |
| #11phoenix00Jun 26, 2009 9:47:28 | Need levels of Dire Singer in there with the bard |
| #12siranuiJun 26, 2009 10:16:51 | "I'd like to note that while I found MJ's character to be somewhat questionable" Having never met the guy, I'm unable to comment on that, only that the media portrayed him as questionable. And I'd rather not believe what the tabloids tell us, as well as money-grabbing parents levelling law suites. Frankly, I feel sorry for someone who had so many mental issues. His biggest crime was being amazingly naive, IMHO. In short: MJ needs a negative Wis modifier and no ranks of sense motive at all, because he repeatedly surrounded himself with people with the Montebank PrC, and trusted them. |
