Miniature representing enlarged person? (Sort of optimizing the board?)

Hello all!

I have a different kind of CharOp question:
Do any of you know where I can buy miniatures representing large heroes?

We frequently enlarge our melee characters and of course need 2x2 square minis - which means we use ugly giants and the like. I searched my ass off on the internet, to no avail. Isn't there a market for big fighters, paladins and such? Enlarge person is sort of a standard spell, right?

Anyways, any help would be most welcome!

Thanks,
Björn

If you use prepainted miniatures, I'm not sure of any. You can just get a generic 4" diameter base and stick your figure on it though.

When I game in person, I use Lego. 'nuff said.

My games normally take place online, where images can be changed without too much a trouble.

Unpainted would be fine. But I only seem to find monsters in that size (2x2 sq). I want a mini looking kind of normal, in full plate and sword instead of some beastly clawed thing with a big-ass spiked club.

My walmart has an expensive set of creatures, Dinosaurs , zoo animals , Knights, greek warriors. I got a greek warrior to represent Ares, I forget the name though?

While there are some giants that make pretty good humans (but don't ask me to name them) your best bet may just be to find something else which uses a bigger scale and then find your 2' diameter bases to put them on.  I'm sure that if I did some looking I could find a line or two of toys that would match the larger scale.

We usually use appropriately size box-lids and put the corresponding mini in it. Saves one of my groups trouble remembering which mini is who/what on a given day considering how often our combats turn into clusters of large and larger minis.

Try a toy store. They might have toys that are the right size.

Funny, dice come in little clear boxes that have black lids.  The black lids are just SLIGHTLY smaller than a 2x2 square on a 1" battlemat.  Simply take your normal mini, set him on a dice box lid, and tada!  You are large.  The clear dice boxes themselves are also remarkably well for representing flying characters.  You set the box over a square, occupied or not, and set your mini on top of it.  Use a die counter next to it to represent altitude.

Funny how that works.
