| #1PlzBreakMyCampaignJul 06, 2009 12:04:49 | I created a neutral cleric build that can command a 89HD undead creature. That's cool. But I also get to choose its feats. So my question to the boards is: what would you do if you had thirty feats to pick out? Improved toughness is a no brainer but after that I don't know what seems best. The undead has a trample, so that can be boosted. I might as well use it in combat so improved initiative would be good. Making it a meatshield, keeping control of it, and using it for its massive skills would all be wonderful. edit: No epic feats please. |
| #2minneyarJul 06, 2009 12:53:45 | What sort of undead is this? Might as well pick feats that complement it. |
| #3jgumbyrxJul 06, 2009 13:19:37 | just bust-out LM and SS, and just go to town. :D |
| #4Omen_of_PeaceJul 06, 2009 13:32:19 | The Draconomicon has decent epic feats - like Spellcasting Harrier for instance (a slightly more powerful version of Mage Slayer). Also look at Devastating Critical - it has a lot of weak prerequisites, but if you equip your bodyguard with a Falchion his enemies will often be forced to save vs a very high DC or die. |
| #5EndarireJul 06, 2009 18:46:53 | Paint the town red. |
| #6mister_crowleyJul 06, 2009 19:01:55 | toughness x 30 |
| #7naldorJul 06, 2009 23:35:45 | toughness x 30 :heehee I feel sorry for that feat sometimes, it's got to be in the running for worst feat ever printed. But depending on the type of undead it is, and its strength score, I can see some very, very scary charging builds using the techniques Endarire put together in the Red Raiding Hood thread. +1 to Devastating Critical & Libris Mortis. |
| #8magmer1Jul 07, 2009 0:19:47 | Thats thirty feats so Combat reflexes, robilars gambit, power attack, shape soul meldx3. undead meldshaper open greater chakra, open heart chakra open soul chakra, epic essentiax9. Pick up spell ward shirt, keen eye lenses, manticore belt. Your undead will be able to fly by attack with a 90 flight, have true seeing, and spell resistance 45 Or you could drop the lenses and go with planar chausable for gate, but I just don't know about the 1000 experience cost on that. Do undead even have experiance? |
| #9PlzBreakMyCampaignJul 08, 2009 9:00:05 | The undead is the highest HD undead I could find; a necronaut (MM3). The unholy toughness was a big selling point :P and Thats thirty feats so Combat reflexes, robilars gambit, power attack, shape soul meldx3. undead meldshaper open greater chakra, open heart chakra open soul chakra, epic essentiax9. Pick up spell ward shirt, keen eye lenses, manticore belt. Your undead will be able to fly by attack with a 90 flight, have true seeing, and spell resistance 45 That's the sort of thing I was hoping for ![]() Oh but no epic feats please. |
| #10blightersbaneJul 08, 2009 11:27:09 | How did, where, who, what level??? A Cleric and a 89 hd undead, how? |
| #11PlzBreakMyCampaignJul 08, 2009 11:33:30 | How did, where, who, what level??? A Cleric and a 89 hd undead, how? I really don't care to answer that question since highly min-maxed builds attract even higher amounts of criticism. But it is possible, without cheese, pre-epic. Well, actually I would post it if I knew it wouldn't become ... snarky. Three people's genuine interest would be sufficient, I hope, to assure this. |
| #12syrazemylaJul 08, 2009 12:12:58 | I really don't care to answer that question since highly min-maxed builds attract even higher amounts of criticism. You've been on the wrong boards. The whole point of our existence is highly min-maxed builds. I'd like to know how it's possible, and if it scales up or down (if you can do something similar at higher or lower levels). |
| #13kopanaJul 08, 2009 19:35:42 | I too would be very interested in this. I'd probably get in trouble if I tried to break out such silly cheese in a game, but it'd be fun to try anyway. :D |
| #14kell_kheraptisJul 09, 2009 4:11:56 | , don't forget to take full advantage of reach with that monstrosity. Trip and fling, and hell, throw on Martial Study to get the Setting Sun ones that let you literally fling people. Thicket of Blades would be nice too, along with Stand Still. Don't suppose that thing can use a weapon, can it? Hmmm...Magic Jar/bind a ghost if need be? |

| #18hand_of_vecnaJul 11, 2009 11:08:16 | less than 20 feats in martial study and martial stance should give him 4-5 9nth lvl manuevers and a strong stance. |
| #19awaken_D_M_golemJul 11, 2009 13:56:34 | hmm ... http://forums.gleemax.com/showpost.php?p=15217233&postcount=18 You could have the Undead, do the basics of the Big Guy Is With Me build. 1) Hidden Talent 3) [Host] feat from CPsi 6) Psicrystal Affinity 9) Improved Psicrystal (this one bumps the ML +1) 12+) these bump the "level" This'll make the Undead, just be a bruiser. The Psicrystal is Level 27 That means it gets 1 power up to level 8. And "only" 9 feats. Less work to do, more sneakiness. { ... insert don't take Leadership you'll make an infinite loop smiley face ... } |
