What's the most overpowered or broken setup or combo you can think of running a rather limited number of books?

The only books available are:

PHB and DMs Guide
All MMs
All Completes (except Champion, Scoundrel is included)
Libris Mortis
Draconomicon
Fiendish Codexs I and II

And that's it. Most combinations I've seen involved various other amazing books (Tome of Battle, Unearthed Arcana) and I have a somewhat sadistic DM. Basically, he bluntly challenged me to roll the most ridiculous character I could and see what happens. Preferably, it would need to not only be useful at 16-20 etc., because I would actually be playing it. Other than that, anything goes.

Thanks in advance!

-Standard Divine Metamagic Cheese is in effect
-Double Casting standard builds are a go (Ur-cheese works great!)
-Blasting Casters do fine with Spellwarp sniper for mailman type builds
-Circle Magic is available (no hathrans... but red wizard ain't exactly hurting)
-Ranger/Barb/Fighter/Frenzied Berzerker Leap Attack/Shock Trooper/Combat Brute Power attack build has every piece right there....

I'm sure there are plenty more, but those are some of the standards.  Any particular type of character you'd like to play?

Edit:  IIRC, with druid/Master of Many forms and a viper familiar you can pull a pun pun with this source material, though I'm sketchy on some of the sources for that.

All MMS? Shaedlings?

Thought Bottle, Candle of Invocation?
Scoundrel is in, so uncanny trickster some other class's ability.

Planar Chaos Mage + Arcane Order?

Hm. Looking at those books a Rebuild Sublime Magus might be interesting. You could also pull of a lightsaber lyric thaum gish, but that's hardly overpowered.
I've always been intrigued by a Spell-storing stealth assassin, too. Or Master Spellthief/Unseen Seer casting sneak attacks through eye of power...

That would require, at a minimum, Serpent Kingdoms for sarruhk, Player's Handbook for shapechange and wizard, and Monster Manual I for kobold. It can be done at a lower level with additional sources, but sarruhk is the only printed creature with manipulate form, so you can't do it without Serpent Kingdoms.

You can actually come close in core only. We had a thread about that on here once. Laughing It involves insane layering of templates and making a bunch of similacrums, but you can get nearly every ability in the game on one creature (it's a similacrum, but "the caster" controls it in the end).

Be careful asking for the most overpowered build here, and then attempting to play it.  Beware falling rocks.

Are there any psionic outsiders? Be an Ardent/Rebuild Cerebremancer, Call and bind psionic outsiders and fuse with them. Then make a simulacrum of the being you become

There's a lot of multi-fuse shenaningans one can pull of there, even. Collect pokemon, create a multi-fusion monstrosity - you should be able to manifest fusion at least some 30 times.
Then, use Miracle to instantly duplicate Simulacrum and create one of what you've become.

Also: Just turn into something with Split (ex) ability, temp HP yourself up, then split yourself some ten, twenty times, assimilate the splits and enjoy your +80 STR... or if your DM rules that the splits have your powers, enjoy insane PP, too.

I once pondered a scenario where a paragon phrenic pseudonatural pudding psion had it's own demiplane where it just constantly split and assimilated itself, while occasionally (once per round) sent a NI HP NI STR individual to fuse with it's adventuring self in the prime material. That'd be some show for anyone with see invisibility looking at the adventuring self....

There's Draconomicon, which could mean Rapidstrike....

All in all, the real question is--- what kind of a character does the OP want to play? I mean, a Wiz/Iot7fV/Archmage can be just fine, in the overpowering department.

Yeah, it actually gets a LOT easier to build a mini-Pun-Pun if you get into Fusion shenanigans. Don't forget you can layer abilities using Shapechange, Polymorph, and Wildshape before making you Similacrum. The stacking rules from each of those can be used to basically gain every ability in the game via the Fusion stuff you're mentioning, especially when you throw in Gate. I think the only ones you wind up unable to get are "natural" abilities (i.e. those that aren't Su, SLA, or Ex) and which aren't explicitly gained by one of those forms of shapechanging. I guess you could technically get those via Gate + Fusion, though.

The OP didn't mention the Expanded Psionics book in his list, though.

It was a direct challenge from the DM to do something as broken as possible, so I have no worries in that department. Unfortunately, no Psionics. =\

You can still do most or all of it. It is just trickier and more expensive, and might require leadership.

One key element is the fact that a Similacrum of your familiar still counts as your familiar. So you can shapechange your familiar, make a similacrum of that, and then still "share spells" with the similacrum, to further manipulate it via form changing magic.

Then you layer effects via Wild Shape (especially elemental form), Polymorph, and Shapechange, and keep adding things and then making new similacrums. You can eventually get nearly every ability in the game on one similacrum (at least from creatures with 25 HD or less).

That's... that's an amazing trick...  Phaedrus, that's awesome!
