We are starting an epic game as soon as summer hits, and I am working out my rough ideas for the character as of now.

I am going for a hellbred (body) mounted paladin, who plans to lead the group into the nine hells itself, and try to win his soul back.

The specifics of the character that I'd rather not change. Hellbred, and paladin. I am also not keen on a dragon companion, as in reading the draconomicon it seems i have to give them things, and they need a lair and would be smarter than the character. I'd rather just have the pokemount summon situation.

skeleton as of now. with 32pb stats.

paladin 5/beastmaster 1/paladin 14

Feats-
1- Mounted Combat
3- skill focus handle animal
H4- devil's flesh
6- track
9- devoted tracker
12- natural bond
H14- devil's stamina
15- ride by attack
18- spirited charge

In the case of confusion, my DM said that devoted tracker stacks my paladin levels as though they were ranger levels onto beast master.

At the end I am thinking I am looking at 19 paladin levels and 16 druid levels for my mount. Which I am thinking a dire lion would be fitting even though it drops druid or paladin levels some. (is this right?)

Also, I am debating on the complete champion spell-less variant, which would let me dump wisdom, and make room for some nonmounted feats(if it comes up).

This is forgotten realms specific, but as the dm owns those books not me, id rather not use them if possible.

The Wild Plains Outrider from Complete Adventurer is perfect for this character and you already have the feat requirements.

I looked at it, but I ran into one question, Would it let my paladin levels which currently are counting for 1/2 druid level, stack for ranger as well? Im sort of worried I might loose out on 3 levels of animal companion if I did this. Alternitivly, I could pick to advance my animal companion, and then be 3 paladin levels lower. It would up my animal companion level to 19 druid levels and 16 paladin levels.

Im comparing the two, and it seems that the druid levels are better companion wise than the paladin, so i might/will revise the build later on.

If you're taking 19 levels of Paladin stick with the spells rather than the feats - Rhino's Rush is great for charging, and buff spells like Righteous Fury are very good.

Pick up Battle Blessing (Complete Champion) to quicken all of them as well.

Its not so much that I want all 19 levels of paladin, as it is I want to keep animal companion/mount advancing as much as possible.

As cool as the spells would be, four feats would definatly help out, as the character is pretty feat starved.

If I do stick with spells, I would be dropping spirited charge for battle blessing.
