| #1silverswordmasterApr 05, 2008 9:09:34 | I'm looking into making a new character, (My droid got scrapped when it stole 40,000 credits and was basicly just OWNED by everything around it), so I am thinking about making a Soilder/Jedi or Scout/Jedi. Does anyone have any good ideas for what I should start with and how to level him or her up? |
| #2inkubusApr 05, 2008 10:13:55 | If you want more skills and are looking at more of a Jedi Sentinel type character start with Scout. Talents like long stride and evasion are great for a Jedi. If you want to play an armoured Jedi (Guardian type) or you're looking at stuff like devastating attack et al go with Soldier. You could also play some kind of Jedi Consular and start with Noble... Those are all reasonable choices so it's really up to you. |
| #3silverswordmasterApr 05, 2008 14:20:16 | I see. What if I wanted a Lightsaber techi? I'm not to big on the Jedi types so what if I just went with the lightsaber talent tree? Then what would I start with? |
| #4delewobmesidApr 05, 2008 21:57:36 | what do you want your jedi to do? for ideas, may I suggest this thread? http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=956495 |
| #5silverswordmasterApr 06, 2008 11:17:31 | I want to be able to handle all the physical stuff. You know, all out on combat. Sure I have a few force powers, but I really want to focus on combat. |
| #6delewobmesidApr 07, 2008 11:25:07 | do you want to be untouchable? deflect and block? what level will you be starting at? how many credits? how many points for your stats or did you roll for them? as a jedi, you'll need wisdom, cha and with a melee focus str and as much dex and con as you can (jedi get spread a little thin on stats) if your going melee, you'll want powerful charge and acrobatic strike; for force powers you'll want battle strike (several times), negate energy (a couple of times), force slam (for swarms), mind trick (so they will forget you used force powers on them), rebuke, force healing to name a few. The build thread gives some good ideas; without more input on where you want to go there is less we can help you with. |
| #7silverswordmasterApr 09, 2008 19:00:23 | Ok, let me give you the whole thing then: The character will be a level one starting out, the character is rolled for stats, which came out 18, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, and I don't care much for force powers and the like, just the combat. Untouchable would be cool, but its more major melee damage. |
| #8delewobmesidApr 10, 2008 10:51:50 | if you want a melee combat brute, here is what I did with a non-jedi wookiee; really effective when you rolls higher than a 5 (I don't always) http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=964567 If you want this to be a jedi, your going to have to look into force powers or be a lot weaker than a straight brute. How do you see your character fighting? just saber? in armor or without? These things determine where a character will start. Think of a character (even if it's not star wars) that your interested in and it will help give me a mental picture of where you want to end up and we'll see what we can do about getting you there. For example you could be like Luke, Mace Windu, or Vader and we can give you something to start with. |
| #9silverswordmasterApr 10, 2008 19:06:41 | I'm thinking something of the technical skill of Yoda more then Mace Windu. Adapting on the fly with serious saber prowess, without the armor, if you would please. Armor is a hinderence if you don't have the feat to wear it. |
