| #1legalassassinNov 11, 2008 16:47:02 | Recently I began playing a character who was supposed to take up the position of being the party Rogue. I decided to do things a little differently. ========================================================= Human Rogue1/Psion 1 Traits(The good parts anyway): Aggressive: +2 Initiative Soul Scarred: +2 Initiative Feats: 1:Improved Initiative 1:Able Learner (Human) 1:Wild Talent (Flaw) 2: Psicrystal Affinity[Meticulous] (Bonus) ======================================================== I'm at the point where I just went from level 1 to level 2. I have yet to choose a Discipline or my powers. I imagine I will go Psion until I meet the requirements for Illithid Slayer (Specifically, killing an Illithid with a group no larger than 6. Which the DM has said is a must) I will probably take Slayer to Level 9. I also intend to take the feat that lets me gain Manifester levels back (For my first level of rogue, and for the lost ML from Illithid Slayer) I was kind of thinking about going Kineticist, since we Lack an offensive Caster. Any suggestions to advancement would be great. Books allowed are every Official wizards 3.5 Excluding campaign settings (Other than Ebberon. It isn't an Ebberon game, but feats/variants/races/items are allowed) Thanks CO |

Here is a link to the psionic rogue and assassin from wizards. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20040723a This would cut down on your need to multiclass, but certainly not as powerful as normal psionic spells. Or for flavor you might just want to take a level instead of the normal rogue. If you dont really plan on advancing the rogue at all, why not replace rogue 1 with factotum 1 (Dungeonscape I think). You will only get 6 skills points, but all skills will be class skills. You can also spend inspiration every encounter to boost something by you Int score. This class also has trapfinding. If you can fit 3 levels in, you will be able to add your Int to all dex and str based skills making you a better skill monkey. If you want more spell casting, the beguiler from PHBII also has a large skill list, 6 points a level, and trap finding. I would only do this though if you want to do an Arcane/Psion dual progression class (both Int casting). Other than that, it sounds like you just want a psion and you were roped into the trapfinding role. If I am wrong though, and you really want to be roguish, I would just do the following. Rogue 1/ Telepath 5/Thrallherd x (get another level of rogue in there somewhere for evasion) Thrallherd will give you a large number of minions under your complete control. Go with the whole spymaster outlook and control spies everywhere. Also you get a cohort. You can make him a rogue too if you dont want to be the one standing on the trap while you look ;) If the cohort dies, you get a new one in 24 hours. |
